Molten Iron Production Method

Abstract: In the case of this molten iron production method, with the use of a stationary direct-current electric furnace, an auxiliary material is supplied to a stationary direct-current electric furnace in a state in which a solid iron source is present in an in-furnace peripheral wall space and the solid iron source is absent in a space facing an upper electrode, and molten iron having a C concentration of 2 to 4 % by mass% and a temperature of 1,400 °C to 1,550 °C is tapped from a taphole.
