FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention relates to a dual step Bilge water removal method and kit. More particularly, the present invention, discloses a kit by which, water from intricate zone of bilges are sucked by vacuum cleaner then the collected water is transferred automatically to water removal KIT for automatic discharge out of the ship.
BACKGROUND ART
BILGE (i.e. the rounded portion of a vessel's shell that connects the bottom with the sides) and tanks are highly critical zone in ship particularly in the machinery spaces. Water Accumulation in the bilge of under construction ship are undesirable due to its ill effect on production activities but owing to unavoidable circumstances it is not possible to have water free bilge. During final stage of outfitting of ship, we need to clean the bilge and tank spaces regularly to facilitate production work.
Owing to highly confined and restrictive space, it becomes very difficult to clean the bilge area quickly resulting in delay causing huge amount of Man-hour loss. Traditionally the water accumulated in the bilge area is cleaned manually by unskilled workman as shown in Figure-1. At first preparatory work is done to ensure proper accessibility of area to be cleaned then water from bilge or tank are manually collected in bucket and passed hands to empty the bucket outside ship. Similar thing is repeated till area is completely free of any residual water. Finally the area is dried using cotton cloth and released for next operation. The major problem with manual method of cleaning is that the job is very risky and time taking and also it involve 8 to 10 workman. The pictorial representation of existing bilge cleaning method is shown in Figure-1.

During final stage of outfitting of ship, we need to clean the bilge and tank spaces of ship regularly to facilitate production work inside machinery compartments. Traditionally the water accumulated in the bilge area is cleaned manually by unskilled workman. The problem with existing method is that it is very slow and require more number of workman for cleaning manually. This manual cleaning method is also unsafe due chances of electric shock.
IMPACT OF CURRENT SITUATION
It is evident that the above process is
Very slow due to manual removal of water from intricate zone
Involvement of more number of workman
Unsafe process due to chances of electric shock
Health Hazard due to mosquito breeding on stagnant water
High ineffective and idle time.
OBJECT OF INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to provide an improved kit and method such that the Bilge cleaning time along with gang strength is reduced substantially.
Another object of the present invention is not only to simplify the cleaning process but also to make whole process hustle free so that forced idleness is avoided. In addition to above the object also include improvement of safety of workers by using improved technique of cleaning.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION
Bilge water cleaning is necessary owing to its ill effect on production activities of machinery compartments. Existing manual cleaning is highly cumbersome and unsafe method and it is also Labour intensive owing high involvement of unskilled workman.
Such as herein described there is provided a bilge water removal kit comprising of a vacuum cleaner with two ports, namely, one suction port and other transfer port; an isolation valve; a water storage drum having a pump mounted on top; a water hose stowage arrangement made above the storage drum; wherein the said isolation valve is fitted in the transfer port configured for controlling the flow of water from vacuum cleaner to the water storage drum; and wherein one end of water hose is connected with pump discharge and other end to be stretched outside the ship.
With this invention, we will be able to clean the bilge area water by motorized system thereby reducing cleaning time and making the process safe. Motorized bilge water removal Kit is shown in the Figure-2.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Fig. 1 illustrates the pictorial flow diagram of manual cleaning method as prior art;
Fig.2 illustrates the details of Motorised bilge water removal kit in accordance with the present invention;
Fig. 3 illustrates the pictorial flow diagram of automatic cleaning by Motorised bilge water removal kit in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
A motorized bilge water removal mechanism, continuously operable by pumping out from the bilge by an outboard motor for discharging water that collects by seepage or leakage into the engine cowl at bilge. The said mechanism includes an inlet conduit having an inlet end positioned closely adjacent to the bottom of an inclined channel formed in the lower section of the bilge, and an outlet conduit having an outlet end positioned exteriorly of the bilge. A filter disposed in the inlet conduit removes debris from the water and protects the vacuum cleaner mechanism, and a bracket mounted to the storage tank holds the inlet end of the inlet conduit closely adjacent to the bottom of the bilge.
The present invention hereby discloses an improved method and kit in order to clean the bilge area water by motorized system thereby reducing cleaning time and making the process safe. The motorized bilge water removal kit is shown in the Figure-2.
As shown in the figure, the motorised kit consists of vacuum cleaner with two ports, namely, one suction port and other transfer port. There is isolation valve fitted in the transfer port which control the flow of water from vacuum cleaner to the water storage drum having 1 HP pump mounted on top. There is a water hose stowage arrangement made above the storage drum. One end of water hose is connected with pump discharge and other end to be stretched outside the ship.
Now let us describe working procedure of Bilge water removal kit.
At first water from intricate area of bilge/tanks are sucked by vacuum cleaner then the collected water is transferred to water removal KIT for automatic discharge out of the ship.

After using the new method we have realized that the Bilge cleaning time along with gangue strength is reduced substantially. The whole process may be explained by pictorial flow diagram in Figure-3.
The working procedure of Bilge water removal kit.
At first water from intricate area of bilge/ tanks are sucked by vacuum cleaner then the collected water is transferred to water removal KIT for automatic discharge out of the ship.
After using the new method we have realized that the Bilge cleaning time along with gang strength are reduced substantially. The whole process may be explained by pictorial flow diagram as shown in Figure-3 illustrating the modified method using water removal kit.
• Close water transfer valve in vacuum cleaner
• Start vacuum cleaner
• Suction of water in progress
• Stop vacuum cleaner once completely filled with water
• Open transfer valve
• Transfer of water from vacuum cleaner to water removal KIT
• Start pump of water removal KIT
• Water transfer out of the ship
ADVANTAGES AND INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION OF INVENTION
The concept, design and method of cleaning of black water from bilge area of is a

quantum leap in the said work resulting in simplification work, huge saving in Man-days and increased safety. Ineffective and idle time has brought down to zero, gang strength is reduced by 60%.
The present invention has a wide range of Industrial application both for naval ship and merchant vessel construction. This system of cleaning of black water from bilge area of ship will reduce the overall cleaning time and improve the safety of work.
