Specification

TITLE: Mounting kit for mgcroscopic sample preparation
FILED OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a mounting kit for microscopic
sample preparation adaptable to testing of metallography.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Metallographic specimens that are too small or too awkwardly-
shaped to permit convenient handling during girding and
polishing e.g. chips, wires, small rods, thin section etc must be
appropriately mounted in a suitable material or rightly
clamped devices to facilitate in the preparational operations.
The most common method of mounting such small metal
specimens are in resin or plastic material or dental plasters or
low-melting alloy such that there will not alter the structure of
the specimens being mounted.
Unless the specimens is properly mounted in any suitable
material, at times considerable trouble arises during griding
due to clogging of the emery paper by the mounting materials.
So care should be taken that the mounting materials does not
come into contact with the emery paper during subsequent
grinding.
Generally for cold mounting of samples for microscopic
analysis, a mould of particular size is required. The sample is
placed inside the mould, then poured the resin over the
specimens in the mould and allow the resin for setting over
night to give the shape of mould along with adherence of
sample at the bottom. After drying the cast becomes solid and
is taken out from the mould for further sample preparation.
The problem experienced drying the process of extraction of
the cast from the mould, often it appears that mould itself
breaks as they are made of fiber and are not user friendly. To
overcome such problem breakage of mould a new idea was
envisaged to prepare a strong durable mould kit which will be
a permanent useable and a long life. A new moulding kit was
fabricated from stainless steel.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore, an object of the present invention to propose a
new moulding kit for microscopic sample preparation which
will eliminate the disadvantages of existing state of art.
Another object of the present invention is to propose a new
moulding kit for microscopic sample preparation which saves
time for specimen preparation.
A further object of the present invention is to propose a new
moulding kit for microscopic sample preparation which makes
easy for sample mounting mould.
An yet further object of the present invention is to propose a
new moulding kit for microscopic sample preparation which is
easy for handling.

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF A PREPARED EMBODIMENT OF
THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a new moulding kit for
microscopic sample preparation comprises to a both end open
tapered body (1), having a base cap (2) disposed at smaller end
of the body and fits in mould by slight pressure. One sample
(3) is placed on the base cap (2) and the body (1) is place on
the top of the base cap (2). Now powders of moulding materials
(4) were poured in the mould. Allowing the moulding materials
to set by keeping it overnight (Fig 7). Drying cast material is
taken out from the mould (1) by stricking with the help of an
extracting tool (5). The specimen of metal is fixed at one face of
the cast material for further processing of metallographic
preparation (Fig 9).
We Claim:
1. A new mounting kit for microscopic sample preparation
comprises: -
• One both ends open hollow tapered body having a base
cap fits by a slight pressure at the smaller opening end.
• One extracting tool which helps to take out the moulded
casting from the body by simple stricking on the cast
part by inverting the body.
2. The mounting kit as claim in claim 1 where the mounting
kit is made of stainless steel material.

A new mounting kit for microscopic sample preparation omprises : One both ends open hollow tapered body having a base cap fits by a slight pressure at the smaller opening end; One extracting tool which helps to
take out the moulded casting from the body by simple stricking on the cast part by inverting the body;
