Mounting Terminal For A Battery

Abstract: Present invention provides a battery mounting terminal having multiple mounting arrangements which can be used in any kind of battery. Said terminal has a first horizontal surface with a hole for top battery mounting, and first vertical surface extending downwards from said first horizontal surface and has a hole facilitating side mounting battery. This terminal has multiple supporting elements configured to restrict movement of the battery mounting terminal, extending backwards from vertical side of the first vertical surface and extending forward from horizontal side of the first vertical surface, and a second vertical surface configured to hold battery wire.

Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION

The invention generally relates to a mounting terminal for a battery and more specifically to a mounting terminal facilitating common mounting arrangement for different type of batteries.

BACKGROUND

Generally in two wheelers, mounting of the battery can be top mounting or side mounting. Constructional design of particular type of battery terminal allows the mating terminal to be mounted in a particular way i.e., either top mounting or side mounting.

While upgrading the electrical system of vehicle, battery can be changed which may lead to battery terminal mounting changed from top to side mounting or side to top mounting which in turn result in design change of battery terminal and wiring harness & service issue.

This results in higher inventory, low productivity and interchange ability issues. Hence there is a need to overcome the above associated with battery terminal mounting.

SUMMARY

Main objective of the present invention is to provide a battery mounting terminal having dual mounting arrangement. Said battery mounting terminal has a first horizontal surface having at least a hole facilitating top battery mounting, a first vertical surface extending downwards from said first horizontal surface and having at least a hole facilitating side mounting battery, multiple supporting elements used for restricting movement of the battery mounting terminal, extending backwards from vertical side of the first vertical surface and extending forward from horizontal side of the first vertical surface and a second vertical surface configured to hold battery wire.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given herein below and the accompanying drawing which is incorporated in and constitute embodiments of the invention, illustrate several aspects of the invention and together with a description of the embodiments serve to explain the principles of the invention and thus, are not limited of the present invention and a brief description of the drawing is as follows:

Figure 1 is illustrating the mounting arrangement of the invention over the vehicle.

Figure 2 is showing enabling arrangements of the invention.

Figure 3 is showing essential embodiments of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described for enablement purpose of the invention. The invention may have application to all types of vehicles. The scope of the invention is entirely based upon the claims provided.

A two wheeled vehicle for example a scooter type vehicle 01 has frame 03 neighbouring which utility space 02 is provided in said scooter type vehicle 01. Below this utility space 02 a battery 200/300 is fixed with the vehicle frame 03 through battery holder. Claimed mounting terminal 100 is attached with the battery 200/300 and facilitating the mounting. Further mentioned mounting terminal 100 is holding the wires 04 for the connection with the battery 200/300.

Further, the reference is made to Figure 1 and Figure 2 in order to explain essential embodiments of the claimed common mounting terminal 100 for top mounting 200 or side mounting 300 batteries. Said battery mounting terminal 100 has multiple mounting arrangements e.g. top mounting profile 101 and side mounting profile 103.

Said top mounting profile 101 is a first horizontal surface which has a mounting hole 107 which facilitates connection between the battery 200 and the battery mounting terminal 100 (as shown in Figure 2).

Mentioned top mounting profile 101 is further extending into first vertical structure and forming the side mounting profile 103 of the mounting terminal 100. Said side mounting profile 103 further has another mounting hole 104, facilitating connection between the battery 300 and battery mounting terminal 100.

The second mounting profile 103 has multiple support elements e.g. vertical side support 102 and horizontal side support 105 used to restrict movement of the battery terminal 100 on battery 200/300 in order to ensure proper connection of the battery 200/300.

Said second mounting profile 103 is further extended into a second vertical surface forming a bracket 106 used for wire crimping connecting wire.

Invention described above provides a cost effective mounting terminal which can be used for different kind of batteries with different mounting profiles. Thus manufacturing cost of the mounting terminals reduces as there can be single type of mounting terminal for all type of batteries.

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS

1)A battery mounting terminal characterised by its plural mounting arrangement comprising a first horizontal surface comprising at least a hole facilitating top battery mounting, a first vertical surface extending downwards from said first horizontal surface and comprising at least a hole facilitating side mounting battery, a plurality of supporting elements configured to restrict movement of the battery mounting terminal, extending backwards from vertical side of the first vertical surface and extending forward from horizontal side of the first vertical surface, and a second vertical surface configured to hold battery wire.

2) The Battery mounting terminal, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the supporting elements is fixed with the battery slots and ensures no movement of the battery mounting terminal.
