The present application is a 'Patent of Addition' and is an improvement over our main Application No. 175/MUM/2003 dated 7th February 2003
Technical field
[001] The present invention relates to Moxifloxacin as prepared by
process claimed in our main application as above. This application also relates to pharmaceutical formulations of Moxifloxacin, as prepared by process claimed in our main application as above.
Background and Prior Art
[002] The product claimed herein is an improvement over the claims in
our main Patent Application as above, the improvement being Moxifloxacin as prepared by process claimed in our main application as above. This application also relates to pharmaceutical formulations of Moxifloxacin, as prepared by process claimed in our main application as above.
Summary of Invention
[003] The present invention relates to Moxifloxacin as prepared by
process claimed in our main application as above. This application also relates to pharmaceutical formulations of Moxifloxacin, as prepared by process claimed in our main application as above.
Detailed Description
[004] The product claimed herein is an improvement over the claims in
our main Patent Application, the improvement being Moxifloxacin as prepared by process claimed in our main application as above. This application also relates to pharmaceutical formulations of Moxifloxacin, as prepared by process claimed in our main application as above.

[005] The following example is illustrative of the invention but in no way
limit the scope of the invention.
Example 1:
A typical pharmaceutical tablet formulation of Moxifloxacin

Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride 60 - 70 % w/w
Microcrystalline cellulose 17-23%w/w
Lactose 8- 11%w/w
Croscarmellose Sodium(Ac-di-sol) 0.5 - 2.0% w/w
Povidone (PVP K-30) 0.4 - 0.6% w/w
Purified water
Talc 0.6 - 0.9% w/w
Magnesium Stearate 0.6 - 0.9 % w/w
Coating Ingredients

Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMCE-15) 1.0 - 2.0 % w/w
Titanium Dioxide 0.4 - 0.6 % w/w
Talc 0.2 - 0.3% w/w
Propylene Glycol 0.2 - 0.3 % w/w
Red Oxide of Iron 0.05% w/w
Purified Water
The process of formulation and coating is carried out by conventional process.

preferred or illustrative embodiments. These embodiments are not intended to be exhaustive or limiting of the invention. Rather the invention is intended to cover all alternatives, modifications and equivalents included within its spirit and scope, as defined by the appended claims.

We Claim:
The product as claimed in claims 1 and 2 are improvements over the claims as claimed in patent application no 175/MUM/2003 dt February 7th, 2003 the improvement being the Moxifloxacin as prepared by process claimed in our main application as above. This application also relates to pharmaceutical formulations of Moxifloxacin, as prepared by process claimed in our main application as above.
