Abstract: ABSTRACT MULTI DIRECTIONAL CONVEYING WHEELS The present invention relates generally to wheels, particularly for use in conveying applications in warehouses and manufacturing facilities, more particularly to wheels capable of multi directional movement to move material/ items in multiple/ transvers directions. The instant invention discloses multi directional wheels for conveying items/ material in forward or reverse directions also to aid transvers movement of the items in other required directions with lesser effort. The multi directional wheel may be embedded with multiple small rollers across the circular top surface at a defined pitch. The wheel will move the item/ material kept on top in the conveying direction and the small rollers act as free rotating top surface of the wheel to aid transverse movement of the items easily with lesser effort.
DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates generally to wheels, particularly for use in conveying applications in warehouses and manufacturing facilities, more particularly to wheels capable of multi directional movement to move material/ items in multiple/ transvers directions.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The conventional multi directional wheels moves the systems/objects to which they are mounted such as moving of vehicle, robots or any portable machines in multiple directions without requiring large turning space. In order to achieve smooth flow of the systems both in direct and transfer directions, the conventional wheels are made with complex constructions such as angular/ 45-degree tilted transvers roller, gaps and junction points for roller connections, dual wheels with offsets, etc. Using principally similar wheel in conveying applications for moving of items/ material adding many complexities also unnecessary cost.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
An object of the invention to provide a multi directional wheels made with simple constructions without gaps and junction points for roller connections.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
To meet the objects of the invention and overcome the drawbacks of the prior art it is disclosed here multi directional wheels for conveying items/ material in forward or reverse directions also to aid transvers movement of the items in other required directions with lesser effort. The multi directional wheel may be embedded with multiple small rollers across the circular top surface at a defined pitch. The wheel will move the item/ material kept on top in the conveying direction and the small rollers act as free rotating top surface of the wheel to aid transverse movement of the items easily with lesser effort.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Referring to FIGs 1 and 2, a multi directional wheel (100) is disclosed which is a circular wheel designed for conveying as well as aiding transvers movement of items/ material. The wheel is embedded with a plurality of small rollers along the circular top surface. During the rotational movement of the wheel, the item placed on top will be moved in forward/ reverse according to the direction of the rotation of the wheel. The small rollers make the circular top as free movable by its rotational movement around the transverse direction and aid movement of the items in any desired directions easily with lesser effort.
FIG.3&4 shows the image of the internal and external view of the wheel disk. The multi directional wheel made with two identical disks (1). The disks are provided with holders (2) for placing and sandwiching the rollers at defined pitches. The disks are fastened together sandwiching small rollers to form a wheel. The two identical disks comprise a plurality of means (3) to fasten the disks together to sandwich the rollers to form a wheel. The wheel constructed without any gap and junction points for roller connections, unlike conventional multi directional wheels.
As per application requirement, the rollers may be directly placed for free rolling in any direction or lockable in rotational direction of the wheel allowing only the transverse movement.

• Multipurpose & multi directional wheels, configurable and scalable as per application requirements.
• Simple construction achieved with minimum number of components.
• Ideal for conveying applications since the wheel constructed without any gap and junction points for roller connections, unlike conventional multi directional wheels.
• The simplified construction reduces overall complexities in manufacturing, assembling, also in operation and maintenance.
,CLAIMS:We Claim:
1. A multi directional conveyor wheel (100) comprising:
two identical disks (1) with a plurality of holders (2) for placing and sandwiching rollers; and
a plurality of rollers (4) to be sandwiched between the two identical disks without any gap and junction points for roller connections.
2. The multi directional conveyor wheel as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the two identical disks comprise a plurality of means (3) to fasten the disks together to sandwich the rollers to form a wheel.
3. The multi directional conveyor wheel as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the holders (2) are across the circular top surface at a defined pitch.
4. The multi directional conveyor wheel as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the two identical disks are provided with a center bore.
