Claims:1. A fuel pump housing (10) for an engine, said housing (10) comprising:
-at least one movable plunger (12) in a barrel (14) to pressurize fuel;
-said housing (10) further comprising a blind hole (18) in the baffle area of
the fuel pump housing (10), characterized in that;
-a baffle pin (20) press fitted in to said blind hole (18) in the baffle area in
proximity to an inlet hole (16) of the barrel (14), adapted to receive the
return jets of pressurized fuel, wherein, said baffle pin (20) is press fitted
in to the blind hole (18) from inside the fuel pump housing (10) and not
accessible from outside of the housing (10).
2. The fuel pump housing (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said baffle pin
(20) is provided with tip end with the existing profile in the baffle zone, in
order to receive the return jets of pressurized fuel from the barrel inlet
effectively.
3. The fuel pump housing (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein press fitting of
said baffle pin (20) is done before placing element in to the housing (10) to
ensure the barrel inlet hole is rightly placed opposite to the baffle.
4. The fuel pump housing (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said blind hole
(18) is machined in aluminum pump housing and a baffle pin (20) is press
fitted in to the blind hole (18).
5. The fuel pump housing (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said baffle pin
(20) has alternate execution such as but not limited to solid, tuned or sheet
metal execution. , Description:A fuel pump housing (10) for an engine, is provided. The fuel pump housing (10)
comprising at least one movable plunger (12) in a barrel (14) to pressurize fuel. The
housing (10) further comprises a blind hole (18) in the baffle area of the fuel pump
housing (10). Further, the fuel pump housing (10) includes a baffle pin (20) press fitted
in to the blind hole (18) in the baffle area in proximity to an inlet hole (16) of the barrel
(14). The baffle pin (20) is adapted to receive the return jets of pressurized fuel.
Further, the baffle pin (20) is press fitted in to the blind hole (18) from inside the fuel
pump housing (10) and not accessible from outside of the housing (10).
