Abstract: This invention relates to a novel fuel injector for improvement in dynamic response of vehicle mounted on intake manifold of engine, wherein the injector comprising an elongated fuel outlet for injection of fuel, tip of which is provided with a plurality of perforations thereinside. It is associated with the following advantageous features:- - Improvement in performance of engine. - Thorough mixing of fuel with air. - Reduction in the distance between injection point and combustion chamber.

Specification

FIELD OF IITVENTION
This invention relates to novel fuel injector for improvement in dynamic
response of vehicle. The fuel injector is particularly cNG injector.
PRIOR ART
As it is known vehicle is having injector for injection of fuel into combustion
chamber for ignition.
The fuel injector such as CNG injector is classified into direct type of CNG
injector and remote mounted type CNG injector.
Referring to fig. 1 in which the remote mounted type CNG injector comprising a
cylindrical steel tube (T) for injecting CNG into intake manifold through hoses.
This type of injector is used generally in remote mounted location.
Now, reference may be made to fig. 2 indicating direct type of CNG injector, in
which CNG is injected into cylindrical space of injector, from where it flows into
intake manifold for mixing with air. The fuel mixed air is supplied to
combustion chamber of engine for ignition.
The gap between point of injection and combustion chamber governs dynamic
response i.e. performance of vehicle.
The disadvantages associated with the above are as follows:-
- More gap between point of injection and combustion chamber.
- Improper mixing of CNG with air.
The dynamic response of vehicle can be changed by changing the gap factor.
Some more prior arts are discussed hereinbelow:-
US2O13O146O29:- An independent fuel injection system of a compressed
natural gas (CNG) engine, may include a cylinder head having an intake port of
an engine using CNG as fuel. A intake manifold communicating with the

cylinder head so as to supply external air to the cylinder head; and an injection
module installed at a predetermined portion of the intake manifold adjacent to
the cylinder head and injecting the CNG fuel toward the intake port.
Another prior art is directed to surge tank placed above an engine main body.
Plural intake runners include curved portions, respectively, which are placed
on one side of the engine main body, and sloped portions extending from the
surge tank to the curved portions. An air cleaner is placed above the sloped
portions. A liquid fuel injection unit is placed in a space between the engine
main body and the intake runners. A gaseous fuel injection unit is placed in a
gap between the surge tank and the air cleaner. Gaseous fuel injection valves
are held by a bracket on a gaseous fuel delivery pipe in a way that they are
placed under the air cleaner.
However none of the above fulfill requirements of present invention. Therefore,
novel CNG injector for improvement in dynamic response of vehicle has been
introduced. This comprises direct tSrpe of CNG injector.
OBJECTS OF THE IIY1IENTION
Primary object of the present invention is to provide novel fuel injector for
improvement in dynamic response of vehicle which overcomes disadvantages
associated with the prior art.
Another object of the present invention is to provide novel fuel injector for
improvement in dynamic response of vehicle which is simple in construction.
Further object of the present invention is to provide novel fuel injector for
improvement in dynamic response of vehicle to reduce the distance between
injection point and combustion chamber.

SI'MMARY OF THE IIV\IENTION
According to this invention, there is provided a novel fuel injector for
improvement in dynamic response of vehicle mounted on intake manifold of
engine, wherein the injector comprising an elongated fuel outlet for injection of
fuel, tip of which is provided with a plurality of perforations thereinside.
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from
the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings and wherein:
Fig. 1 shows: remote mounted type cNG injector according to prior art.
Fig.2 shows: direct type of cNG injector known in the art.
Fig. 3 shows: mounting of fuel injector of present invention on engine.
Fig. 4 and 5 shows: fuel injector in accordance with present invention.
ACCOMPAITYIIVG DRAWINGS
The invention discloses novel fuel injector for improvement in d5mamic
response of vehicle. The invention focuses on direct t5pe of fuel injector,
wherein fuel is such as CNG.
The factors influencing dynamic response of vehicle are as follows:-
- Distance between point of injection of fuel and combustion chamber.
- Profile of injector outlet through which fuel is injected.

Accordingly the cNG injector of instant invention has been designed.
The injector (I) is mounted on intake manifold (2) of engine in proximity to
cylinder head (1) as shown in frg. 3. Now reference may be made to fig. 4
wherein the fuel injector outlet (O) is longer, which is provided with a bend (B).
The angle of bending is such that it is aligned with intake manifold runner
angle as shown in fig. 3.
Further improvement comprises shifting of fuel injection point to the end of
angular fuel ouflet union indicated by the point (p) in figure 4.
The above provision reduces the distance between the injection point and
combustion chamber and locates the injection point of CNG in proximity to the
combustion consumer.
In conventional injector, the injection point is located inside injector body
indicated by the point J.
In contrast to the above provision in prior art injection point has been shifted
to the end (P) of said outlet.
Now, reference may be made to fig. 5.
There is provision of perforation (R) in the side of the tip of the injector in
conjunction with a plurality of perforations (Rr) inside the tip as shown. The
internal perforations are already available in conventional injector tip. The
provision of additional perforation (R) in the tip side allows better mixing of fuel
with air as compared to the existing injector in which CNG is injected into the
front side only.
The improvements discussed hereinabove lead to improvement in d5mamic
response of vehicle.

Advantageous Features
Improvement in performance of engine.
Thorough mixing of fuel with air.
Reduction in the distance between injection point and combustion
chamber.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications,
adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments
employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within
the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the
following claims:-

WE CLNM:
1' A novel fuel injector for improvement in dynamic response of vehicle
mounted on intake manifold of engine, wherein the injector comprising
an elongated fuel outlet for injection of fuel, tip of which is provided with
a plurality of perforations thereinside.
2' A novel fuet injector as claimed in claim L, wherein said elongated ouflet
of injector comprising a longer outlet having a bend.
3' A novel fuel injector as claimed in claim L or 2, wherein the angle of
bending is such that it is aligned with the intake manifold runner angle.
4' A novel fuel injector as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein
the fuel injection point is located at the end of the fuel outlet.
5' A novel fuel injector as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein
the tip of outlet is provided with atleast one perforation on the side.
6' A novel fuel injector as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein
the fuel injector is such as CNG injector.
7. A novel fuel injector as claimed in any of the preceding claims, is
associated with the advantageous features such as herein described.
8' A novel fuel injector for improvement in dynamic response of vehicle
substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying
drawings.
