Novel Intra Uterine Formulations

Abstract: The present invention describes a pharmaceutical formulation for gynecological indications in cattle. The formulation comprising a triple combination of three antimicrobial agents-metronidazole, gentamicin and povidone-iodine. Uterine infections in cattle can be caused by a veriety of microorganisms including various genera and bacteria, fungi, virus and protozoa. Moreover most common uterine infections, such as metritis, pyometra, retention of placenta etc., are caused by more then one microbial species and genera. It is thus very difficult to effectively treat uterine infections in. The present invention describes a novel formulation that can be used for the effective treatment of several uterine infections in cattle.
