Novel Iron Ore Agglomerates For Improved Physical And Chemical Properties Of High Alumina Blast Furnace Slag
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel iron ore agglomerates were developed by the sintering of fine iron ore, fuel, flux and with boron oxide bearing additives for the enhancement of physical (tumbler index, cold compression strength, abrasion index etc.) and the chemical properties (reducibility index and reduction degradation index). When further smelted in any smelting reduction furnace results in the development of the good quality hot metal and high alumina (>19%) slag. These slag produced in the furnace has high alumina concentration (19%-25%), with good fluidity, lower melting point, optimum softening melting regime with good desulphurization capacity, desiliconisation capability and alkali capacity.
