Abstract: The present invention relates to novel modified release compositions comprising at least one water soluble active agent(s) or its salts, polymorphs, solvates, hydrates, analogues, enantiomers, tautomeric forms, derivatives or mixtures thereof; a release controlling system comprising of at least one polymer(s) exhibiting pH dependent solubility, at least one hydrophobic agent(s) and at least one water insoluble polymer(s); and optionally one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipients.
