Specification

[0001] The present disclosure relates generally to the field of nutracetical compositions. Specifically, the disclosure is directed to a nutraceutical confectionary composition for boosting immunity of a subject comprising Cinnamomum verum, Piper nigrum, Elettaria cardamomum, Amomum subulatum, Zingiber officinale and Ocimum tenuiflorum. The disclosure also relates to a method of preparing the nutraceutical confectionary composition.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[0003] Communicable diseases have started to spread widely and have been noted to cause extreme damage. The coronavirus pandemic is only one such example, but human kind has witnessed many such epidemics and pandemics, for example - Ebola, Zika, Spanish flu etc. Bacteria and viruses are always present in the environment and humans are constantly exposed to them. Diseases may be present in a limited number, however occasionally a new strain may cause an outbreak. The potential for such an outbreak to spread is immense in the current world with increase in globalization and associated human movement. It is further increased by the rise in contact between humans and animals, bad sanitization, climate change, mutation in microorganisms, among others.
[0004] Human body is thus always challenged by the environment and must be prepared for the extreme. The body’s innate ability to fight external pathogens is dependent on its immunity. The immune system spreads across the body in the form of cells, or proteins and is capable of distinguishing the pathogens from the rest of the body. Upon exposure the immune system counters by initiating an immune response towards these microorganisms. Since the body is continually exposed to the pathogenic environment, the immune system may get weaker or deteriorate with time. In such situations, additional nutritional supplements may be taken to replenish it. From traditional herbal infusions to today’s sophisticated formulations, nutraceuticals for immune support have come a long way. Owing to the pull of scientific progress and push of demanding consumers, we are entering an era where products are required to deliver the promised value with guaranteed safety and clinical proof. But all products are not up to standard. Most of the supplements are chemically synthesized compounds or formulations, regular consumption of which may be associated with side effects. Further, these compounds or chemicals may also not be suitable for all, especially the elderly and kids. Thus, decreasing patient compliance.
[0005] There is a need in the art to develop natural, safe and easy to prepare nutraceutical compositions that have immunity boosting ability. Said compositions must be suitable for all ages.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0006] An object of the present disclosure is to provide a nutraceutical confectionary composition for boosting immunity that satisfies the existing needs, as well as emerging ones, and generally overcomes the deficiencies found in the prior art.
[0007] An object of the present disclosure is to provide a nutraceutical confectionary composition for boosting immunity naturally without side effects.
[0008] An object of the present disclosure is to provide a nutraceutical confectionary composition for boosting immunity economically.
[0009] An object of the present disclosure is to provide a nutraceutical confectionary composition that has good shelf life.
[0010] Another object of the present disclosure is to provide a process for preparing a nutraceutical confectionary composition for boosting immunity.

[0064] The present invention is further explained in the form of following examples. However, it is to be understood that the following examples are merely illustrative and are not to be taken as limitations upon the scope of the invention.
[0065] All the plants were locally sourced. Cinnamomum verum originated in India and Sri Lanka. Zingiber officinale and Ocimum tenuiflorum also have origins in India. Amomum subulatum originates specifically from the eastern Himalayas. Piper nigrum and Elettaria cardamomum have their origins in Western Ghats of Kerala.
Example 1: Nutraceutical composition
[0066] For the nutraceutical composition the amounts of the components taken are provided in Table 1.
Table 1: Nutraceutical composition:
Component Amount (grams)
Isomalt sugar 2
Cinnamon 0.33
Black pepper 0.33
Green cardamom 0.33
Black cardamom 0.33
Dry ginger (Saunth) 0.33
Tulsi Dried (Dry Basil Leaves) 0.33

Method of preparation:
[0067] Isomalt was taken in a pan and heated. It was continuously stirred as isomalt is heat sensitive and can easily get caramelized or stick to the bottom of the pan. The sugar was heated till 350ºC and allowed to cool thereafter. Cinnamon, black pepper corn, green cardamom, black cardamom and dry ginger were dry roasted on a pan or griddle to remove the moisture from the spices. The mixture was then made into a fine powder of all these spices. The mixture of spices and dry basil leaves were added into the cooled isomalt and mixed properly. Desired candy shape was given to mixture and left at room temperature to set.
[0068] The foregoing examples are merely illustrative and are not to be taken as limitations upon the scope of the invention. Various changes and modifications to the disclosed embodiments will be apparent to those skilled in the art. Such changes and modifications may be made without departing from the scope of the invention.
