Brief description of the ingredients and their uses
Soya Protein
Soy is a high-quality protein. It is one of the few known plant foods (the other is amaranth seed and to a lesser degree, quinoa) to contain all the essential amino acids, like those found in meat.
Soybeans are members of the pea (legume) family of vegetables and have been a staple of Asian cuisines for thousands of years.
Soy and soy foods are popular especially for people following vegetarian and vegan diets. This is due to their high-quality (complete) protein content, and their ability to be processed into milk and meat substitutes.
Soybeans contain hormone-like substances called phytoestrogens that mimic the action of the hormone estrogen and have been associated with beneficial health effects. Eating soybean-based foods may reduce the risk of various health problems, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, coronary heart disease (CHD), some cancers and improve bone health.
Evidence also suggests the consumption of soy and soy foods is beneficial for peri-menopausal and postmenopausal women and is linked to fewer and reduced severity of hot flushes.
Soybeans and soy foods may reduce the risk of a range of health problems, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, coronary heart disease (CHD) and some cancers, as well as improving bone health.
Soy is a high-quality protein – one or 2 daily serves of soy products can be beneficial to our health.

Pea Protein (Concentrate to form isolate)
Pea protein powder is made from yellow split peas and does not contain any dairy. Because it’s naturally gluten-free and hypoallergenic (in other words, free from common allergens), pea protein is often the protein source of choice for those with dairy allergies.
While pea protein is not as slow-digesting as casein- another common type of dairy protein- it is absorbed more slowly than whey proteins. That’s what makes pea protein an optimal choice for post-workout recovery, especially for those with whey allergies.
Certain studies have shown that pea protein is even more satiating than whey, which is especially beneficial for those who want to control their appetite. The isolate form has a few other excellent benefits that make it a great part of anyone’s fitness routine.

Pea protein isolate is typically produced from yellow peas grown in either North America or Europe. The creation of pea protein isolate happens through a basic food production process that involves removing the pea’s outer shell and milling it into flour. From there, the pea’s other ingredients like fiber and starch are separated through a filtration process. The pea protein is then distilled into a white precipitate, known as protein powder.
Pea protein isolate is different from pea protein because of the chemical process, it goes through to turn peas into pea protein isolate. Because of this characteristic, pea protein isolate is technically a processed food. However, since it is only minimally processed from its original form, pea protein isolate typically doesn’t have the negative side effects that come with some other types of processed foods that contain high amounts of fillers and preservatives like sugar and sodium.
Studies have shown that processed pea protein isolate is safe enough to be used in infant formula. Unless one has a pre-existing health condition or an intolerance to peas, one should be able to include pea protein isolate as part of the regular diet.

Fructo Oligosaccharides (FOS)
Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) are a form of carbohydrate. The term saccharide is another word for sugar, and an oligosaccharide is a molecule made up of a small group of these sugars.
As a dietary ingredient, FOS fits into a few different categories. It is a carbohydrate but is usually listed under fibers. It is also used as a sweetener. An interesting note about FOS is that it passes through the intestines undigested.
FOS does not cause a spike in a person’s blood sugar as other sweeteners do, and it is also low in calories. For these reasons, FOS may be ideal for people looking for an alternative sweetener.
In nature, FOS is found in many different plants, including common plants such as banana, artichoke, onion, chicory, garlic, asparagus, yacon root, blude agave and in many other plant species in nature as well.
FOS is broken down in various ways and comes in a few different forms like syrups, powders, extracts, and this results in different end products that have different uses and varying benefits. FOS comes in a few different forms, and each may be used for a specific purpose.
Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) are used as alternative sweeteners because they carry less calories than sugar and they do not cause a spike in blood sugar. As a dietary ingredient, FOS fits into a few different categories. It is a carbohydrate but is usually listed under fibers. It is also used as a sweetener.
An interesting note about FOS is that it passes through the intestines undigested.
While FOS may provide some people with a beneficial sweetener or an easy form of prebiotic to improve their gut health, it might not be wise to overeat these extracts. Consuming a diet rich in the foods containing FOS may be the best way to enjoy the benefits without ingesting an excess.

Acidity Regulator (E330)
INS 330 is a known acidity regulator which is extensively used in the food industry. An acidity regulator, as the name suggests regulates the pH of food. Taking you back to high school chemistry, pH ranges from 1-14. Below 7 is acidic and above 7 is alkaline. Microorganisms do not thrive in an acidic or highly alkaline environment. Food that is acidic is sour in taste, while alkalinity imparts a bitter taste, which is not desirable. This is why most acidity regulators are acidic in nature.
INS 330, being slightly acidic and relatively safe for human health, maintains the acidity level of food to stop it from spoilage due to bacteria and fungus.
Citric acid as the name suggests can be synthesized from citrus fruits like lemon and orange. It was first isolated from lemon juice. Citric acid can be produced by adding calcium oxide to citrus juice to form calcium citrate. Citric acid can be recovered from calcium citrate by adding sulfuric acid. It adds a sour flavour to food, which is desired in many beverages and candies. The sour taste gives INS 330 the name sour salt.
Globally, it is one of the most popular preservatives with close to 1 million tons of citric acid produced annually.
Citric acid, as mentioned, is an additive that helps preserve food by reducing or preventing the growth of mold, bacteria and fungus. It does so by increasing the acidity of the environment so that other organisms cannot thrive in it.
Citric acid helps retain the colour and texture of food and prevents browning. Browning occurs when polyphenols in food react with oxygen. By lowering the acidity of the food, citric acid prevents browning.
Citric acid binds tightly to metal ions. This means it is an effective chelating agent that can prevent poisoning/contamination of metal ions in the body.
Citric acid is a good preservative for blood as it prevents coagulation. Hence, it is used in the pharmaceutical industry.
Being an acidity regulator, it regulates the pH value and used to prevent increases in pH in cosmetic products.
Citric acid prevents kidney stone formation. But, instead of consuming citric acid directly, it is advised to consume fruit juices rich in citric acid. The citrate binds with urinary calcium and the calcium oxalate crystals prevent crystal growth.

Xanthone (Mangosteen)
Xanthones, from the pericarp, whole fruit, heartwood, and leaf of mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana Linn., GML), are known to possess a wide spectrum of pharmacologic properties, including antioxidant, anti-tumor, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral activities.
Mangosteen is also called the "Queen of Fruits" & Food of Gods and is a rich source of antioxidants and vitamin C. It has been found that its extract can neutralise up to 20–30 times more free radicals than any other natural sources. Mangosteen is good in vitamin C which is a powerful water soluble antioxidants. Mangosteen helps to strengthen the immunity system.
It promotes joint & cartilage function supports a strong respiratory system and help in maintaining good health. The active therapeutic compound found in Mangosteen is called “Xanthones”. Xanthones are a family of phytonutrients loaded with potent of health benefits and antioxidants properties. Xanthones in Mangosteen have the ability to eradicate and destroy cancer cells. The mangosteen fruit is said to containsatleast 43 known Xanthones, majority of which are found in the fruit wall or pericarp of the fruit.
Xanthones work to reduce oxidative stress caused by free radicals. By damaging the free radicals, these antioxidants protect the body from various diseases, ranging from common cold and Flu, Cancer risk and Heart disorders.
There are over 200 XANTHONES found in nature. Mostly in wood, lichens and moss, which are mostly unpalatable and inedible. But 43 of them are in the Mangosteen, 3 in pulp and 40 in the pericarp. The highest recorded amount of XANTHONES present in Mangosteen than anything else. Xanthones represents the very latest that nutritional science has to offer. Much more than a great Antioxidants, Xanthones are a class of multi-functional phytonutrients poised to raise the bar in the nutritional arena ! At our company, we have not only launched a category creator, we are the next generation of supplementation.
Mangosteen provides powerful support for every organ system in the human body. This fact is being confirmed on a daily basis by clinical experience.
“Mangosteen is the most successful food supplement ever." - J. Frederic Temple man, M.D., a primary care physician for more than 20 years and board certified in both the United States and Canada.
"Mangosteen provides huge health benefits for every organ in our bodies."- Sam Walters, N.M.D., a family practitioner trained as a specialist in both traditional and natural medicine, with more than 30 years of comprehensive practical experience in the medical profession, and formulated nutritional products for companies and institutions including the NASA Space Center for the astronauts.
Mangosteen contains more than 40 biologically-active, natural chemical compounds called Xanthones. While all these Xanthones have similar molecular structures, each one has its own unique chemical formulation that permits it to perform a specific function. Alpha-mangostin, for example, is a very potent antioxidant. Gamma-mangostin is a powerful anti-inflammatory. Garcinone E is a strong anti-tumor agent. These and the other Xanthones found in the Mangosteen provide a virtual medicine chest of natural healing compounds that address a wide variety of health issues.
Centuries of Mangosteen use has helped Southeast Asians maintain or regain their health and cure their diseases. Traditional Asian healers use the fruit to stop infection, treat inflammation, and increase one's energy, among others.
Modern scientists and a growing number of health practitioners now agree on the medical benefits of Mangosteen. They have found that the fruit is helpful in preventing and possibly even stopping a wide range of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, cancer and other chronic diseases.
Those who have taken the time to do their own research on the validity of each health benefit of Mangosteen will find that there is real and solid science behind the "Queen of Fruits".
Mangosteen contains powerful antioxidants and immune system boosters called Xanthones, natural chemical compounds which were proven to possess a variety of potent medicinal properties.
Xanthones occupy a special place in the Mangosteen's arsenal of healing compounds. They have been shown to have more potent antioxidant activity than vitamin E, one of nature's most powerful known antioxidants.
A laboratory test known as ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity), for example, showed that an ounce of Mangosteen extract provides 20 to 30 times more capacity to absorb free radicals than an ounce of most fruits and vegetables.
Mangosteen also contains other potent natural compounds like catechism, polysaccharides, quinines, stilbenes and polyphenols.
Catechism were discovered to be five times more potent as antioxidants than vitamin C.
Polysaccharides are highly potent anti-cancer and anti-bacterial plant compounds. They help block a mutated cells ability to stick to healthy cells to help stop the spread of cancer, and are especially effective against intracellular bacteria.
Quinones are known for their anti-bacterial properties and also are strong antioxidants. Stilbenes in plants defend these plants against fungi. Interestingly, stilbenes also maintain their anti-fungal properties even when ingested. They also are strong antioxidants.
Polyphenols were found to be far more potent as antioxidants than vitamin E, considered one of the most powerful known antioxidants.

Essential Vitamins (Vitamin Blends):
Vitamin C - Vitamin C is one of the safest and most effective nutrients, experts say. Though it may not be the cure for the common cold, the benefits of vitamin C may include protection against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, eye disease, and even skin wrinkling. The tolerable upper intake level (or the maximum amount you can take in a day that likely won’t cause harm) is 2000 mg a day for adults.
A study published in Seminars in Preventive and Alternative Medicine that looked at over 100 studies over 10 years revealed a growing list of possible benefits of vitamin C.
Vitamin C has received a great deal of attention, and with good reason. Higher blood levels of vitamin C may be the ideal nutrition marker for overall health," says study researcher Mark Moyad, MD, MPH, of the University of Michigan. "The more we study vitamin C, the better our understanding of how diverse it is in protecting our health, from cardiovascular, cancer, stroke, eye health [and] immunity to living longer.
Vitamin B3 - As a cholesterol treatment, there are good studies showing that niacin can boost levels of good HDL cholesterol and lower triglycerides. Niacin also modestly lowers bad LDL cholesterol. It's sometimes prescribed in combination with statins for cholesterol control, such as rosuvastatin (Crestor, Ezallor), simvastatin (Flolipid, Zocor), fluvastatin (Lescol), atorvastatin (Lipitor) and pravastatin (Pravachol).
However, niacin is only effective as a cholesterol treatment at fairly high doses. These doses could pose risks, such as liver damage, gastrointestinal problems, or glucose intolerance. So don't treat yourself with over-the-counter niacin supplements. Instead, get advice from your health care provider, who can prescribe FDA-approved doses of niacin instead if recommended.
In addition, niacin is an FDA-approved treatment for pellagra, a rare condition that develops from niacin.
It helps keep your nervous system, digestive system and skin healthy. Niacin (vitamin B-3) is often part of a daily multivitamin, but most people get enough niacin from the food they eat. Foods rich in niacin include yeast, milk, meat, tortillas and cereal grains.

Vitamin B5 - Vitamin B5, also called pantothenic acid, is one of 8 B vitamins. All B vitamins help the body convert food (carbohydrates) into fuel (glucose), which the body uses to produce energy. These B vitamins, often referred to as B complex vitamins, also help the body use fats and protein. B complex vitamins are needed for healthy skin, hair, eyes, and liver. They also help the nervous system function properly.
All B vitamins are water-soluble, meaning that the body does not store them.
In addition to playing a role in the breakdown of fats and carbohydrates for energy, vitamin B5 is critical to the manufacture of red blood cells, as well as sex and stress-related hormones produced in the adrenal glands, small glands that sit atop the kidneys. Vitamin B5 is also important in maintaining a healthy digestive tract, and it helps the body use other vitamins, particularly B2 (also called riboflavin). It is sometimes called the "anti-stress" vitamin, but there is no concrete evidence whether it helps the body withstand stress.
The body needs pantothenic acid to synthesize cholesterol. A derivative of pantothenic acid called pantethine is being studied to see if it may help lower cholesterol levels in the body.
Vitamin B5 deficiency is rare, but may include symptoms such as fatigue, insomnia, depression, irritability, vomiting, stomach pains, burning feet, and upper respiratory infections.
High Cholesterol/High Triglycerides
Several small, double-blind studies suggest that pantethine may help reduce triglycerides, or fats, in the blood in people who have high cholesterol. Some of these studies show that pantethine helped lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and raise HDL (good) cholesterol. In some open studies, pantethine seems to lower levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in people with diabetes. But not all studies agree. Larger studies are needed to see whether pantethine has any real benefit.
Skin Care and Wound Healing
Preliminary research suggests that vitamin B5 has moisturizing effects on the skin, however, researchers aren't clear why it works. Other studies, mostly in test tubes and animals but a few on people, suggest that vitamin B5 supplements may speed wound healing, especially following surgery. This may be particularly true if vitamin B5 is combined with vitamin C.
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Preliminary evidence suggests that pantothenic acid might improve symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but the evidence is weak. One study found that people with RA may have lower levels of B5 in their blood than healthy people, and the lowest levels were associated with the most severe symptoms. Other studies show that calcium pantothenate improves symptoms of RA, including morning stiffness and pain. More studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Vitamin B6 - Vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine) is important for normal brain development and for keeping the nervous system and immune system healthy.
Food sources of vitamin B-6 include poultry, fish, potatoes, chickpeas, bananas and fortified cereals. Vitamin B-6 can also be taken as a supplement, typically as an oral capsule, tablet or liquid.
People who have kidney disease or conditions that prevent the small intestine from absorbing nutrients from foods (malabsorption syndromes) are more likely to be vitamin B-6 deficient. Certain autoimmune disorders, some epilepsy medications and alcohol dependence also can lead to vitamin B-6 deficiency. This can cause a condition in which you don't have enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body's tissues (anemia), confusion, depression and a weakened immune system.
A vitamin B-6 deficiency is usually coupled with deficiency in other B vitamins, such as folic acid (vitamin B-9) and vitamin B-12.
The recommended daily amount of vitamin B-6 for adults 50 and younger is 1.3 milligrams. After age 50, the recommended daily amount is 1.5 milligrams for women and 1.7 milligrams for men.
Evidence
Research on the use of vitamin B-6 for specific conditions shows:
• Heart and blood vessel disease and stroke. Researchers had previously believed that vitamin B-6, when combined with folic acid (vitamin B-9) and vitamin B-12, might prevent diseases of the heart and blood vessels by reducing the levels of an amino acid in the blood (homocysteine). However, studies show that the combination of these vitamins doesn't seem to reduce the risk or severity of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
• Morning sickness. Vitamin B-6 might reduce the severity of morning sickness during pregnancy. If you have persistent nausea and vomiting, your pregnancy care provider might prescribe vitamin B-6 supplements.
• Premenstrual syndrome (PMS). There is some evidence that vitamin B-6 might reduce symptoms of PMS; however, these studies are considered to be low quality.
• Sideroblastic anemia. Vitamin B-6 is effective at treating this genetic type of anemia.

Vitamin A – Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in many foods. Vitamin A is important for normal vision, the immune system, reproduction, and growth and development. Vitamin A also helps your heart, lungs, and other organs work properly. carotenoids are pigments that give yellow, orange, and red fruits and vegetables their color. Your body is able to convert some carotenoids into vitamin A.
Vitamin A is the generic term for a group of fat-soluble compounds highly important for human health.
They’re essential for many processes in your body, including maintaining healthy vision, ensuring the normal function of your immune system and organs and aiding the proper growth and development of babies in the womb.
It’s recommended that men get 900 mcg, women 700 mcg and children and adolescents 300–600 mcg of vitamin A per day (1Trusted Source).
Vitamin A compounds are found in both animal and plant foods and come in two different forms: preformed vitamin A and provitamin A.
Preformed vitamin A is known as the active form of the vitamin, which your body can use just as it is. It’s found in animal products including meat, chicken, fish and dairy and includes the compounds retinol, retinal and retinoic acid.
Provitamin A carotenoids — alpha-carotene, beta-carotene and beta-cryptoxanthin — are the inactive form of the vitamin found in plants.
These compounds are converted to the active form in your body. For example, beta-carotene is converted to retinol (an active form of vitamin A) in your small intestine (Trusted Source).
Here are 6 important health benefits of vitamin A.
1. Protects Your Eyes From Night Blindness and Age-Related Decline
Vitamin A is essential for preserving your eyesight.
The vitamin is needed to convert light that hits your eye into an electrical signal that can be sent to your brain.
In fact, one of the first symptoms of vitamin A deficiency can be night blindness, known as nyctalopia (Trusted Source).
Night blindness occurs in people with vitamin A deficiency, as the vitamin is a major component of the pigment rhodopsin.
Rhodopsin is found in the retina of your eye and extremely sensitive to light.
People with this condition can still see normally during the day, but have reduced vision in darkness as their eyes struggle to pick up light at lower levels.
In addition to preventing night blindness, eating adequate amounts of beta-carotene may help slow the decline in eyesight that some people experience as they age (4Trusted Source).
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness in the developed world. Though its exact cause is unknown, it’s thought to be the result of cellular damage to the retina, attributable to oxidative stress (5Trusted Source).

Vitamin B1 - Vitamin B1, also called thiamine or thiamin, is one of 8 B vitamins. All B vitamins help the body convert food (carbohydrates) into fuel (glucose), which the body uses to produce energy. These B vitamins, often referred to as B-complex vitamins, also help the body metabolize fats and protein. B-complex vitamins are needed for a healthy liver, skin, hair, and eyes. They also help the nervous system function properly and are needed for good brain function.
All B vitamins are water soluble, meaning that the body does not store them.
Like other B-complex vitamins, thiamine is sometimes called an "anti-stress" vitamin because it may strengthen the immune system and improve the body's ability to withstand stressful conditions. It is named B1 because it was the first B vitamin discovered.
Thiamine is found in both plants and animals and plays a crucial role in certain metabolic reactions. Your body needs it to form adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which every cell of the body uses for energy.
It is rare to be deficient in thiamine, although alcoholics, people with Crohn disease, anorexia, and those undergoing kidney dialysis may be deficient. Symptoms of thiamine deficiency are Headache, Nausea, Fatigue, Irritability, Depression, Abdominal discomfort.
People with thiamine deficiency also have trouble digesting carbohydrates. This allows a substance called pyruvic acid to build up in the bloodstream, causing a loss of mental alertness, difficulty breathing, and heart damage, a disease known as beriberi.
Beriberi
The most important use of thiamine is to treat beriberi, which is caused by not getting enough thiamine in your diet. Symptoms include such as Swelling, tingling, or burning sensation in the hands and feet, Confusion, Trouble breathing because of fluid in the lungs, Uncontrolled eye movements (nystagmus).
People in the developed world usually do not get beriberi because foods such as cereals and breads are fortified with vitamin B1.
Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome
Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome is a brain disorder caused by thiamine deficiency. Wernicke-Korsakoff is actually two disorders. Wernicke disease involves damage to nerves in the central and peripheral nervous systems. It is often caused by malnutrition due to alcoholism. Korsakoff syndrome is characterized by memory problems and nerve damage. High doses of thiamine can improve muscle coordination and confusion, but rarely improves memory loss.
Cataracts
Preliminary evidence suggests that thiamine, along with other nutrients, may lower the risk of developing cataracts. People with plenty of protein and vitamins A, B1, B2, and B3 (or niacin) in their diet are less likely to develop cataracts. Getting enough vitamins C, E, and B complex vitamins, particularly B1, B2, B9 (folic acid), and B12, may further protect the lens of your eyes from developing cataracts. More research is needed.
Alzheimer disease
Lack of thiamine can cause dementia in Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome. So researchers have speculated that thiamine might help Alzheimer disease. Oral thiamine has been shown to improve cognitive function of patients with Alzheimer. However, absorption of thiamine is poor in elderly individuals. More research is needed before thiamine can be proposed as a treatment for Alzheimer disease.
Heart failure
Thiamine may be related to heart failure because many people with heart failure take diuretics (water pills), which help rid the body of excess fluid. But diuretics may also cause the body to get rid of too much thiamine. A few small studies suggest that taking thiamine supplements may help. Taking a daily multivitamin should provide enough thiamine.
Depression
Low levels of thiamine are associated with depression. In one study of elderly Chinese adults, poor thiamine levels were associated with a higher risk of depression.

Vitamin B9 - Vitamin B9, also called folate or folic acid, is one of 8 B vitamins. All B vitamins help the body convert food (carbohydrates) into fuel (glucose), which is used to produce energy. These B vitamins, often referred to as B-complex vitamins, also help the body use fats and protein. B-complex vitamins are needed for a healthy liver, and healthy skin, hair, and eyes. They also help the nervous system function properly. Folic acid is the synthetic form of B9, found in supplements and fortified foods, while folate occurs naturally in foods.
All the B vitamins are water-soluble, meaning the body does not store them.
Folic acid is crucial for proper brain function and plays an important role in mental and emotional health. It aids in the production of DNA and RNA, the body's genetic material, and is especially important when cells and tissues are growing rapidly, such as in infancy, adolescence, and pregnancy. Folic acid also works closely with vitamin B12 to help make red blood cells and help iron work properly in the body.
Vitamin B9 works with vitamins B6 and B12 and other nutrients to control blood levels of the amino acid homocysteine. High levels of homocysteine are associated with heart disease, however researchers are not sure whether homocysteine is a cause of heart disease or just a marker that indicates someone may have heart disease.
It is fairly common to have low levels of folic acid. Alcoholism, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and celiac disease can cause folic acid deficiency. Also, certain medications may lower levels of folic acid in the body. Folic acid deficiency can cause Poor growth, Tongue inflammation, Gingivitis, Loss of appetite, Shortness of breath, Diarrhea, Irritability, Forgetfulness, Mental sluggishness.
Pregnant women need more folic acid to lower the risk of neural tube birth defects, including cleft palate, spina bifida, and brain damage. Neural tube defects are birth defects caused by abnormal development of the neural tube, a structure that eventually gives rise to the brain and spinal cord. Since folic acid has been added to many grain foods in the U.S., such as bread and cereal, neural tube defects have decreased dramatically.
Birth defects
As mentioned, pregnant women who do not get enough folic acid are more likely to have children with birth defects. Pregnant women should get 600 mcg of folic acid per day. Women who plan to become pregnant should make sure to get the recommended 400 mcg per day since many neural tube defects can happen shortly after conception and before a woman even knows she is pregnant. Prenatal vitamins contain the needed amount of folic acid for pregnant women.
Studies show that women who take folic acid supplements before conception and during the first trimester may reduce their risk of having children with neural tube defects by 72 to 100%. Other studies suggest that in the setting of folic acid fortification of grains, folic acid supplementation does not appear to offer further benefit for preventing spina bifida.
Folic acid may also help prevent miscarriage, although the evidence is not clear.
Child development studies show that taking prenatal folic acid supplements at the time of conception is associated with a lower risk of autism. Other studies show that taking folic acid supplements in early pregnancy was associated with a reduced risk of severe language delay in children at age 3 years. And some research suggests that low folate levels during pregnancy is associated with a higher risk of emotional problems in the offspring.
Heart disease
Folate may help protect the heart through several methods. First, there is some evidence that getting enough folic acid in your diet can reduce your risk of heart disease, although this evidence is based on population studies and not more definitive clinical trials. There is not yet any evidence that taking folic acid supplements would help.
Also, many studies suggest that people with high levels of the amino acid homocysteine are roughly 1.7 times more likely to develop coronary artery disease, and 2.5 times more likely to have a stroke than those with normal levels. B complex vitamins, especially vitamins B9, B6, and B12, help lower homocysteine levels. However, there is no evidence that high homocysteine levels actually cause heart disease.
Most people who are concerned about heart disease should focus on getting enough B vitamins from healthy foods. In some cases, however, your doctor may recommend taking B vitamins to lower homocysteine levels. If you are worried about heart disease, ask your doctor whether taking a B vitamin supplement is right for you.
Age-related hearing loss
One study suggests that folic acid supplements help slow the progression of age-related hearing loss in elderly people with high homocysteine levels and low folate in their diet. It is not known whether healthy seniors would benefit.
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
One large study found that women who took 2,500 mcg of folic acid along with 500 mg of vitamin B6 and 1,000 mcg of cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) daily reduced their risk of developing AMD, an eye disease that can cause vision loss.
Depression
The evidence about whether folic acid can help relieve depression is mixed. Some studies show that 15 to 38% of people with depression have low folate levels in their bodies, and those with very low levels tend to be the most depressed. One study found that people who did not get better when taking antidepressants had low levels of folic acid. A double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that taking 500 mcg of folic acid daily helped the antidepressant Prozac work better in women, but possibly not men. Another study found that taking folic acid and vitamin B12 was no better than placebo in relieving depression in older people.
Cancer
Folic acid in the diet seems to protect against the development of some forms of cancer, including Colon cancer, Breast cancer, Cervical cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Stomach cancer.
However, this evidence is based on population studies that show people who get enough folate in their diet have lower rates of these cancers. Researchers do not know exactly how folate might help prevent cancer. Some think that folic acid keeps DNA healthy and prevents mutations that can lead to cancer. There is no evidence that taking folic acid supplements helps prevent cancer. The best course of action is to make sure you eat a balanced diet with enough folate, which will help protect you against a number of diseases.
Low dietary intake of folate may increase the risk of developing breast cancer, particularly for women who drink alcohol. Regular use of alcohol, more than 1½ to 2 glasses per day, is associated with higher risk of breast cancer. One large study, involving more than 50,000 women followed over time, suggests that adequate intake of folate may reduce the risk of breast cancer associated with alcohol.

VITAMIN B2 - Vitamin B2, or riboflavin, is naturally present in foods, added to foods, and available as a supplement. Bacteria in the gut can produce small amounts of riboflavin, but not enough to meet dietary needs. Riboflavin is a key component of coenzymes involved with the growth of cells, energy production, and the breakdown of fats, steroids, and medications. [1] Most riboflavin is used immediately and not stored in the body, so excess amounts are excreted in the urine. [2] An excess of dietary riboflavin, usually from supplements, can cause urine to become bright yellow.
Recommended Amounts
RDA: The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for men and women ages 19+ years is 1.3 mg and 1.1 mg daily, respectively. For pregnancy and lactation, the amount increases to 1.4 mg and 1.6 mg daily, respectively.
UL: A Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) is the maximum daily dose unlikely to cause adverse side effects in the general population. A UL has not been established for riboflavin, because a toxic level has not been observed from food sources or from longer-term intakes of high-dose supplements.
Vitamin B2 and Health:
Because riboflavin assists many enzymes with various daily functions throughout the body, a deficiency can lead to health problems. Animal studies show that the brain and heart disorders and some cancers can develop from long-term riboflavin deficiency.

VITAMIN B12 – Vitamin B12 is a nutrient that helps keep your body’s blood and nerve cells healthy and helps make DNA, the genetic material in all of your cells. Vitamin B12 also helps prevent megaloblastic anemia, a blood condition that makes people tired and weak.
Vitamin B12 plays a key role in many aspects of health and may support bone health, red blood cell formation, energy levels, and mood. Eating a nutritious diet or taking a supplement can help ensure the needs.
Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is an essential vitamin that your body needs but cannot produce.
It’s found naturally in animal products, but also added to certain foods and available as an oral supplement or injection.
Vitamin B12 has many roles in your body. It supports the normal function of your nerve cells and is needed for red blood cell formation and DNA synthesis (Trusted Source).
For most adults, the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) is 2.4 micrograms (mcg), though it’s higher for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding (Trusted Source).
Vitamin B12 may benefit your body in impressive ways, such as by boosting your energy, improving your memory, and helping prevent heart disease.
Here are 9 health benefits of vitamin B12, all based on science.
Helps with red blood cell formation and anemia prevention, May support bone health and prevent osteoporosis, May reduce your risk of macular degeneration, May improve mood and symptoms of depression, May benefit your brain by preventing the loss of neurons, May give you an energy boost, May improve heart health by decreasing homocysteine, Supports healthy hair, skin, and nails

Enzyme Blends
Enzymes as mentioned hereinabove are proteins that speed up chemical reactions occurring in a dough. They work on specific substrates in the formulation and are deactivated by heat or other chemical changes in the formulation.
“Because enzymes can modify different components of the dough — starch, proteins or lipids, they can be used to improve loaf volume, crumb structure, dough stability, tolerance, taste and flavor, and crumb softness,” said Luc Casavant, application director, Lallemand Baking. “They can be added in formulations as single enzymes or as enzyme blends to optimize their activity or create synergies between enzymes.”
Working with multiple enzymes to improve multiple aspects requires a holistic approach. By looking at the entire formula and how enzymes are working together and with other ingredients, bakers can optimize performance.

It has been found that utilization of the above-mentioned method with combinations of products results in a dehydrated composition that is homogeneous and resistant to separation of the components. That is, the ratio of the components is retained in the dried product. The method produces a dehydrated product with a density similar to that obtained by spray-drying / sun drying and the like, but with retention in heat-labile constituents similar to that obtained via freeze-drying.
Products which may be utilized in the combinations for drying include but are not limited to berries, fruits, herbs, vitamins, seeds and extracts or purified extracts of berries, fruits, herbs, vitamins, seeds, including Soya Protein, Pea Protein (Concentrate to form isolate), Fructo-Oligosaccharides (FOS), Acidity Regulator (330), Mangosteen, Vitamin Blend and Enzyme blend (Amylase, Lactase, Lipase, Cellulase, Protease).
The extracts of any of aforesaid ingredients may be liquefied by any process, filtered or unfiltered and combined. In some embodiment, the extracts are combined in a ratio of less than 1% to greater than 99% in the liquid form. The liquid combinations are then dried using the methods of the invention to form a gel, a film, a flake, or a powder that retains the original homogeneity of the liquid. The form of the dried product depends on several factors, such as composition of original components, temperature of drying, residence time on the dryer, moisture content of the product, and polysaccharide content of the product. For example, products with higher polysaccharide content tend to result in more filmlike products. In some embodiments of the invention, the form of the dried product may be controlled by controlling the above-mentioned factors. For example, if a film is desired, then polysaccharide may be added to the liquid composition. Films may be converted to flakes or powders, and flakes may be converted to powders with further processing of the dried product.
Homogeneity of the product may be determined by methods known to those skilled in the art. It is known in the art that dry blends containing different combinations of food, herbs, supplements or extracts of food or herbs can experience separation of constituents due to different densities even when particle size is similar. Such separations occur, for example, during transport of the mixtures. The present combinations of dried blends, however, do not undergo a separation of constituents under these circumstances. In some embodiments, the homogeneity of the dried product is retained for at least about three years.
The dried blends of the present invention can be used in a variety of applications. The combinations of ingredients or purified extracts of said ingredients remain homogeneous in dehydrated form will improve the ease of formulations and standardize the constituents of the product. Standardization of constituents will improve the dependability of sensory attributes, nutrients and bioactivities of the combinations. Bioavailability of nutrients may be improved in the presence of aloe and the nutritional value of the foods, supplements or extracts. The dried products may be reconstituted with water. The dried blends can be used as a preformulation for the preparation of food, supplemental, therapeutic or cosmetic products.
As to the preparation of capsules of the dried blends, for example, as nutritional supplements, the dried blends of the present invention are suitable for use in an encapsulation process since they are homogeneous and would not encounter difficulties with ingredient flow that may be present in nonhomogeneous mixtures.
The dried blends of the present invention may be used in compositions for various uses, such as therapeutic, cosmetic, and nutritional uses. For example, the dried blends may be formulated in a composition that contains a therapeutic agent. The therapeutic agent may be present either as part of the dried blend, or as part of a further composition.
As noted above, the dried composition of the present invention can be present in various drug delivery system, including gels, films, flakes, and powders. The form of the dried composition will inform the addition of other components for a particular use. If necessary the composition may be milled at any suitable stage of the process. A suitable sterilization procedure may also be included if necessary. Alternatively raw materials are obtained in sterile condition and the compositions are produced aseptically.
In another embodiment of the invention, the end-product(s) is suitable for use in the form of powder, granules, suspension, tablets or capsules etc.
