Specification

DESC:[001] The present subject matter relates to offset engine mount cross member for heavy commercial vehicles and method of manufacturing thereof.

[002] It is challenged to remove the starter motor from the engine system due to space contains in the onboard condition of the vehicle. Hence user or customer has to take vehicle at the dealer place for complete removal of complete engine and lift the engine towards replacement of starter motor lead into costly affairs in addition to customer vehicle downtime and dis-satisfaction.

[003] Therefore, there is a need of integrated compact system to overcome above challenges in a cost-effective manner.

[004] The present subject matter solves the aforementioned and other problems by replacing starter motor without removing engine from vehicle in the on-board condition, wherein offset engine mount cross member system is being developed.

[005] In the present system, the structural change in the engine mounting frame of the engine shift the engine away from the base platform, which result into providing sufficient space for removal of start motor of the engine system without lifting the engine position.

[006] Further the present system is having tube cross member design over sheet metal forming parts considering manufacturing feasibility and reduce part cost and development time too.

[007] The advantage of present subject matter is to easy replacement of starter motor even on road, no need to go to service station resultant minimum break down time of vehicle, thereby increase in vehicle uptime. Further it reduces the labor cost and working time for starter motor replacement in a cost-effective manner.

[008] The present subject matter develops a starter motor of small size, which can be remove in current space available without offset engine mount.

[009] The present system comprising casting mounted bracket connected bracket welded on tube bend for offset connection which is lighter and ease in manufacturing.

[0010] Although the present disclosure is described in terms of certain preferred embodiments and examples, other embodiments and examples will be apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art, given the benefit of this disclosure, including embodiments and examples that do not provide all of the benefits and features set forth herein, which are also within the scope of this disclosure.
