, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present disclosure relates generally to compositions for oral hygiene. More specifically, the disclosure is directed to an oil pulling composition for improved oral hygiene comprising coconut oil, olive oil and almond oil along with other essential oils.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[0003] Oral hygiene, which is often neglected, is an important aspect of the overall health of an individual. On average nearly all adults have faced one or more oral concerns in their lifetime. These could include tooth decay/carries, gingivitis, sensitivity, periodontitis or oral cancer. Oral hygiene has also been linked to some underlying health issues, like cardiovascular diseases, or diabetes. As per reports by WHO, tooth decay was the most common health concern in 2017. With increasing development, lack of awareness and proper lifestyle people are becoming more vulnerable to these oral conditions. Basic practices like regular brushing, flossing, mouth-washing, reduction in sugar intake and improving one’s diet etc. can decrease or delay the onset of some oral issues.
[0004] Mouthwashes or mouth cleansers available in the market contain chemicals and preservatives, one of the chief ingredients being chlorhexidine. Chlorhexidine causes tooth staining upon long term use and also causes decay of enamel which eventually results in tooth decay. The marketed products have other side-effects linked to long term usage of chemicals. Oil pulling therapy is an alternative method that involves swishing a tablespoon of oil in the mouth instead of a mouthwash. However, oil formulations available in the market generally contain harmful or unknown additives with hidden side-effects.
[0005] There is a need in the art to develop alternative compositions for oil pulling that are effective in maintaining oral hygiene and do not possess any harmful additives. The composition must comprise minimum effective concentration of oils and a broad spectrum of activity.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0006] An object of the present disclosure is to provide an oil pulling composition comprising only natural ingredients.
[0007] Another object of the present disclosure is to provide an oil pulling composition that is fluoride-free and chlorhexidine-free.
[0008] Still another object of the present disclosure is to provide an oil pulling composition with optimized amounts of base oils and essential oils.
[0009] Yet another object of the present disclosure is to provide an oil pulling composition that has anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-plague properties and immunity booster effects.
