4. The Challenge
: It is mandatory to adhere Subscriber Verification Norms issued by the Department of Telecommunication for any new mobile connection with any telecom operators. Across telecom service providers, the new applications - Customer Acquisition Forms for prepaid or post paid mobile connections are to be vetted with absolute thoroughness and the new SIM Cards can be issued only after all verifying criteria are complied with. As per the guidelines the customer not only has to furnish mandatory documents supporting both identity and residence proof, but also has to present himself at the Point of Sale for verification of original documents and also for cross verification with the issuing authorities database as an authorization process for approval and activation of SIM CARD by the operators.
