Specification

1. A trolley apparatus for housing surgical instruments within an operating theatre,
the trolley apparatus comprising:
5
a wheeled chassis having a top surface formed as a work surface;
a plurality of openable storage compartments formed within the chassis;
10 a first swiveling arm having a first end swivellably mounted on the chassis and a second
end having a first cassette holder mounted thereon, wherein the first cassette holder is
configured to enable a first surgical instrument cassette to be slidably held therein;
a second swiveling arm having a first end swivellably mounted on the chassis, and a
15 second end having a second cassette holder mounted thereon, wherein the second
cassette holder is configured to enable a second surgical instrument cassette to be
slidably held therein, and wherein each of the first and second swiveling arms is
swivellably mounted on the chassis independently of the other; a display screen bracket mounted on the chassis and having two display screens mounted
thereon.
2. The trolley apparatus as claimed in claim 1, having a side tray provided on at least
one side of the chassis, wherein said side tray is pivotable, foldable or retractable to
25 enable the side tray to move between an open position where it protrudes out from the
chassis and a closed position where it is held against or alongside a sidewall of the chassis.
3. The trolley apparatus as claimed in claim 1, having disposed within the chassis,
one or more of:
30
a gauze and cotton collector;
a cautery machine; a suction system; and
a saline pump system.
4. The trolley apparatus as claimed in claim 1, where one or each of the first and
40 second swiveling arms is a telescoping arm coupled with an electronic actuator that is
configured to implement telescoping action of the telescoping arm.
5. The trolley apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein one or each of the first
cassette holder and the second cassette holder comprises a sliding assembly and one or
45 more servo motors configured to control sliding motion of a surgical instrument cassette
held therewithin.
6. The trolley apparatus as claimed in claim 1, further comprising any one or more of: an audio sensor coupled with a voice activation controller configured for voice activation
of the one or more servo motors;
5
a proximity sensor coupled with a proximity based activation controller configured for
proximity based activation of the one or more servo motors;
10 a proximity sensor coupled with a proximity based activation controller configured for
proximity based activation of the one or more servo motors;
a touch sensor coupled with a touch based activation controller configured for touch
15 based activation of the one or more servo motors.
7. The trolley apparatus as claimed in claim 1, comprising:
a data processor housed within the trolley apparatus, wherein said data processor is
20 configured for controlling any one or more of the first swiveling arm, the second
swiveling arm, the first cassette holder, the second cassette holder, a side tray, a cautery
machine, a suction system, a saline pump or any material dispensing device housed on or
within the chassis; and a computing device communicably interfaced with the data processor, and configured to
receive user inputs and enable control of one or more components of the trolley
apparatus through the data processor.
8. The trolley apparatus as claimed in claim 7, wherein the computing device enables
30 control of one or more of the first swiveling arm, the second swiveling arm, the first
cassette holder, the second cassette holder, a side tray, a cautery machine, a suction
system, a saline pump or any material dispensing device housed on or within the chassis.
9. The trolley apparatus as claimed in claim 7, comprising a keyboard or a scanner,
35 configured to monitor and track consumables dispensed from the trolley apparatus
during a surgery session.
10. The trolley apparatus as claimed in claim 7, wherein the computing device is
configured for wireless communication for implementing any one or more of:
40
transmission of consumables related data relating to a surgery session to a hospital
server for billing;
transmission of requests for supplies, pharmaceutical products, or consumables to a
45 hospital server for delivery from a pharmacy; transmission of inventory related information to a hospital server for inventory
management and restocking of consumables; and transmission of requests for assistance in case of emergencies.
