Abstract: This optical fiber wire comprises: a bare wire part that has a core and a cladding and that extends in an axial direction; a primary layer that covers the bare wire part; and a secondary layer that covers the primary layer. The Young’s modulus of the primary layer is in the range of 0.10-0.45 MPa. The pull-out force that is required to pull the bare wire part out of the primary layer in the axial direction is in the range of 0.6-1.2 N/mm. When a point load is applied to the optical fiber wire using a spherical pin having a diameter of 3 mm, voids occur in the primary layer before delamination occurs between the bare wire part and the primary layer and before cracks occur in the primary layer.
