Optimising Enzyme Usage In Processing Of Cotton Yarn

Abstract: ABSTRACT Industrial enzymology is a rapid growing field. This is explored in textile wet processing with vary novel properties and process friendly aspects. Still some drawbacks are found that, when the variations in raw materials itself at the time the reaction of enzymes are not satisfactory level to fulfill the textile requirements due to the major raw sources of manufacturing. This recipe of combinations enzyme formulated based on the individual non-cellulosic compounds and single pretreatment process. Single combination of enzyme product Comprising of enzymes in percentage as single product recipe Hydroysis enzymes of Polygalactronases 6.25, Proteases 12.5, Cellulase 25, Cellobiohydrolases 6.25, Xylanase 6.25, Lipases 6.25, Pectinase 12.5, cleavage enzyme of pectate Lyase 12.5, and oxidoreductive enzyme of glucose oxidase 12.5. In this combinations Hydrolysis enzyme contains 75 % instead of various action capable enzymes which react with specific impurities present in the cotton. Oxidoreductive enzymes 12.5% are also incorporated with this recipe including cleave enzymes. 12.5 % Oxidoreductive enzymes are added to enhance the bleaching process in simultaneously. From the formulated product 3 to 5.5 gpl concentration used for trials under controlled conditions of Goods to liquor ratio as 1:7, Treatment time 20 minutes, at 60oC of temperature. 3 gpl concentrated trial sample gives the excellent economical results in single bath pretreatment process. Characterization of samples done by the determination of Whiteness Index, water absorbency, Lea CSP and Hariness index In final result the whiteness index increased above 65.5 and should not beyond 70. Water absorbency time for all samples is reduced to<1 sec from <8 sec. CSP of materials increased as 70% and hariness index reduced as 2 from 49. Comparably, the non substrate based enzyme combination works toward to scouring and it need one more process for bleaching. But the entire substrate based enzyme combinations makes the excellent single stage pretreatment process than others.
