Abstract: An outdoor unit comprising: a pair of support pillar members; and a motor support plate that is fixed to the support pillar members at support pillar fixing portions which are respectively provided in end sections of the motor support plate in a left/right direction, and supports a fan motor between the pair of pillar support members. The motor support plate has a first plate section extending along a plane that is perpendicular to a front/rear direction. The first plate section is provided with a motor insertion hole inside of which the fan motor is positioned, a plurality of motor fixing sections that are arranged along an inner edge of the motor insertion hole and to which the fan motor is fixed, and a protruding section that protrudes to one side in the front/rear direction. The protruding section has a ring-shaped protruding section that extends along the inner edge of the motor insertion hole and is where the motor fixing sections are positioned, and a reinforcing protruding section that extends from the ring-shaped protruding section toward the support pillar fixing portions. Supposing that there are first imaginary lines and second imaginary lines that extend in different directions from the motor support sections to the pillar fixing portions as viewed from the front/rear direction, side surfaces of the reinforcing protruding section have first side surfaces that extend along the first imaginary lines and second side surfaces that extend along the second imaginary lines.
