PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is performed.
FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to pallet containers which are used for the transportation of liquid dangerous goods and more specifically to composite and plastics pallets used for said pallet containers having more space in discharge valve area of the pallet.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Pallet containers are used for storing, moving and transportation of liquid dangerous goods. Pallet containers consist of outer cage made out of hollow steel tubes welded at their intersections, fixed on a pallet and holding a plastics bottle/ container having one filling opening on top and one emptying/discharge valve at bottom.
Pallet containers are used for transportation of liquid goods. The pallet containers are consisting of mainly 3 parts namely inner container, hollow tube outer cage and pallet. Pallet containers consist of outer cage made out of hollow steel tubes fixed on a pallet and holding a plastics bottle/inner container having one filling lid on top and one emptying/discharge valve at bottom
Pallet containers have a volume of 800-1250 1 preferable 1000 1. With pallet containers different kinds of pallets are used mainly wooden, plastics, steel or composite pallets. The composite pallet is a combination of one steel pan, some plastics blocks and a base ring which is connected on the lower side of the plastics blocks. The plastics pallet is a one piece pallet made out of polymers.
The emptying opening of the inner container is a closeable, replaceable discharge valve which is placed above the sump area of the pallets. The preferred size of the discharge valves is 2" with a nominal internal diameter of approx. 50mm.
On state of art pallet containers with plastics and composite pallets, the 2" discharge valve cannot screwed off if the inner container is placed in the outer cage. The inner container has to be taken out of the outer cage of the pallet container for changing the discharge valve
The discharge valve is used to empty the inner container of pallet containers. These discharge valves are having provision to put threaded cap with discharge pipe or a camlock adaptor on. Pallet containers are generally reused many times and before every use they are subjected to cleaning, washing and changing the screwed on discharge valves if necessary. Sometimes for cleaning and reconditioning they have to dismantle the whole pallet container for unscrewing the discharge valve, as sufficient space is not available for unscrewing the discharge valve.
During live time of the pallet container the discharge valve tend to leak and there is no closed or removable leakage collecting area under the discharge valve.
Prior Art:
EP 1 232 961 is describing a pallet container with a composite pallet. The composite pallet consists of a steel pan, supported by a steel traversal piece, resting on plastics blocks (bearing elements) and a steel tube base ring consisting of two u shaped halves .The front center bearing element is under the discharge valve and designed as drip pan. This, drip pan has a too small drip area for changing the discharge valve by in the outer cage inserted inner container, the sharp horizontal outer cage tube ends are not covered and there is no provision for safe discharge valve leakage accumulation.
