3. PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION COMPLETE
(a) The following specification particularly describes and ascertains the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed/used.
(b)This invention will be called PANCHANG TIMING DEVICE
(PTD).
This device will involve integrating certain
astrological/astronomical aspects in the watch/clock and in any
other timing devices including manual and the electronic ones such as in cell phones, mobile phones and phones, computers, laptops, software, VCDs, DVDs and any other improvement in the future that may come into the market to indicate time in any form or as screensavers in the computers/laptops/mobiles/cellphones with time indication. This would help the believers in astrology in various astrological aspects, (c) BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
(i) This invention integrates certain specific astrological/astronomical aspects in the existing timing devices or that may come in future which would be of great use to common man as well as to astrologers and to those who believe in astrology.
(ii) At present, the substance of my invention which occurs, on every day is not captured in physical form in any timing devices.
(iii) Another event that happens on earth's rotation in 24 hours as well as moon's rotation around it and movement of planets around the sun affects the human race in different ways. The important items constituting a panchanga have an intimate bearing on the fixing of auspicious times. The panchanga consists of five limbs or accessories namely, thithi (lunar day), vara (week day), nakshatra (constellation), yoga (a luni-solar day) and karana (half a lunar day). The five limbs of the
panchanga are supposed to represent the five sources of ethereal energy of which some are visible and some of them are invisible and which when properly secured are said to conduce the health, wealth and prosperity and happiness of mankind. These effects are both positive and negative. My invention is trying to capture this astronomical/astrological event in the timing device which will be of great use to common man as well as believers in astrology in reducing the negative effect to a great degree when follwed (d)PRIOR ART OF THE INVENTION
On the basis of the search made in the websites of United States Patent site and European Patent Office site, various watches/clocks related to astrology were found but none of them are in any way similar or connected to the present invention. PANCHANG TIMING DEVICE (PTD) the present invention is unique and novel on its own merit. Similarly, searches were made in the, Indian patent site and no watch/clock relating to astrology or PANCHANG was found patented. Therefore, the prior art that were found in the search are not relevant to the present invention. Hence the same is not discussed.
(e)In my keen observation, as an astrologer, of the people around me for the last
36 years and as a person with scientific and legal background and as a householder, I have observed in a day itself one becomes
highly elated in certain time of the same day one feels so dejected, sometimes very dull, sometimes so active, sometimes hyperactive, sometimes angry, sometimes rash, sometimes spiritual, sometimes sensual, sometimes sad and sometimes very happy. The question arises why such a thing of mood swing happens in a day and whether it is possible to retain only good things of the above and whether it is possible to minimize the effect of bad emotional aspects and avoid them or minimize the effects has resulted in the present invention. The panchang timing device is mainly based on horary and muhurtha (election) astrology. How it is different or superior to horoscopy may be explained that horoscope reads what is indicated by the planetary positions at the time of birth being the
resultant of one's previous karma. In other words, it haste do only *,
wi|i what one has brought with him - the sum total of one's inheritance - physical mental and material. Muhurtha, on the other hand, is much more important. It gives valuable directions by following which the person will be enabled to remove, neutralize, counteract or overcome the evils indicated by the horoscopic chart. Horoscopy is diagnostic. It merely points out the ills but prescribes no remedies. Muhurtha is prescriptive as well as preventive. It tells how by undertaking ventures at auspicious times one can ward off the evils and ensure success. Suppose break in education is indicated by the position of evil planets in the fourth house from the Ascendant and by the affliction of Jupiter, lord of education and Mercury, lord of intelligence. These
planetary conjunctions indicate want of education in a man as a result of his karma in previous states of existence. Muhurtha says that the obstructions to educational progress by the planetary conjunctions indicated at the time of birth can be minimized by fixing an auspicious time for commencing the education. Suppose evil planets in the fifth house indicate loss of children. Then Mahatma comes to his help first by asking him to marry at a certain auspicious time when ethereal currents released from the planets will be powerful as to minimize or modify the afflictions to the extent that the birth and survival of at least some children may be ensured. Thus Muhurtha helps one to minimize or modify the evils of our past Karma to a considerable extent. Muhurtha tells us when to do a certain thing if failure is to be avoided.
It may be said that creative, protective and destructive forces are embedded in the womb of Time. As the Sun and the planets are the signatures of time and as all the forces or energies have their source of origin in the Sun, the movements of planets give us a clue as to when the various kinds of creative and destructive forces which are nothing but radiations set in.
Taking an everyday example; nobody could say that the influence of the Sun during the course of one day will be the same. The Sun in the morning, the Sun in the afternoon, the Sun in the evening and the Sun at midnight the sun hi the summer and the sun in winter cannot and will not be the same in heat or in any of his other agencies light, magnetism, electricity, etc. A man wants to
have a picnic and we ask him to have it either in the morning or in the evening when the Sun is not very hot. This will be asking him to reject the noon as inauspicious for pleasure. Here the physical effects are demonstrable to some extent. Similarly a man wants to have a pleasant function. We advise him to have it at a suitable time when, in spite of the season being rainy, there is no chance of the weather being cloudy or rainy. Will we be wrong in asking him to reject the time when the weather is likely to be disturbed? The same reasoning should guide us to appreciate the idea behind the selection of auspicious times for our various activities. There is a time to sow and a time to reap. Why not we do the sowing operations during harvest season? Nature would be against us. This is shown by the Sun's position. During the sowing season creative forces are in operation. When an important activity is to be undertaken, destructive forces have to be screened off. All the planets move incessantly and release different kinds of forces and the Maharishis have given us clues as to how best we can make use of the grand constructive vibrations operating in nature if our endeavours are to be endowed with success. Thinking in this line has resulted in my present invention. For this, what you need is after all a watch or any timing device which always one carries along with Panchang details and one sheet of paper in which the key is provided along with it you have a ready guidance. No need to rush to an astrologer or browse through the books
(f) SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

5 CLAIMS That what is claimed is
5.1. Panchang Timing Device (PTD) comprising a case having an electronic or semi-electronic clock or watch modified with addition of computer chips programmed with and linked to five LCDs with 5 windows or a single liquid crystal display with five windows capable of displaying date and time, vara (week day) tithi ( lunar day ), nakshatra (constellation), yoga ( luni solar day), karana (half lunar day) with display of duration to which it is present for a particular date in hours and name of the planets along with the display in degrees upto which it has progressed on the beginning of the particular date is concerned.
5.2 The computer chips in PTD is also programmed to display
marriage match making, rahukaal, yamakanda and guligaikaal
and hora and its effects, good time to carry out in a particular
date in the relevant LCD display windows when the relevant
key is pressed.
5.3 The computer chips are also programmed to display the
position of nine planets everyday and connected to selection
switch as well as to date concerned. When switch is pressed it
shows astrological sign position of planets on the beginning of
the date concerned. When the selection switch is pressed again,
it indicates the position for the next date and so on.
5.4 The computer chips regarding the Panchang display and
the datewise planetary position is programmed for six months or for one year and can be easily removed from the case and can be replaced with the new chip for the next six months or one year.
5.5 Along with FID, a printed statement based on astrology
could be given indicating the favourable and unfavourable time
for various negotiations, signing business agreements, time for
safe travel and time for starting/inaugurating business etc. for
each day. This statement along with how to use the apparatus
will be given with PTD which will help every PTD user with
general astrological guidance that is applicable to the people
who belong to different signs of zodiac.
5.6 In advanced versions, this statement may be incorporated
in the PTD itself with the keys to produce the display regarding
favourable/unfavourable aspects of particular item datewise.
5.7 At present, the above astrological/astronomical aspect
relating to Panchang is not available in any timing device.
Hence it is difficult for common man and believers of astrology
to find out a good/favourable or bad/unfavourable time in a day
without the help and guidance of astrologers whereas PTD tries
to remove this handicap. Like a weather warning or a tsunami
warning or a storm warning by the Meteorological Department
saves many peple and property, the principle of PREVENTION
IS BETTER THAN CURE is sought to be re-iterated by this
invention and advance preventive action based on horary principles and Muhurtha principles of astrology may save many people from many of the problems to a great extent — is sought to be achieved by this invention.
5.8 In PTD it is not necessary that every PTD will have hour, minute and second hand. Instead, hour, minute and second may be represented numerically also.
