Abstract: In order to display information for rejected paper sheets in an easily recognizable manner, the paper sheet handling apparatus includes: a transport path configured to transport paper sheets; a recognition unit configured to recognize the paper sheets transported in the transport path; a reject unit configured to stack rejected paper sheets discharged from the transport path based on a recognition result by the recognition unit; and a display unit configured to display information for rejected paper sheets in a manner which is different for a case where the number of the rejected paper sheets stacked in the reject unit can be determined, and for a case where the number of the rejected paper sheets stacked in the reject unit cannot be determined. I/We Claim:
1. A sheet handling apparatus comprising:
a transport unit configured to transport sheets;
a recognition unit configured to recognize the sheets transported by the transport unit;
a reject unit configured to stack one of the sheets that is determined to be a rejected sheet based on a recognition result by the recognition unit;
a display unit; and
a control unit configured to control the display unit based on the recognition result, wherein:
the control unit controls the display unit so as to change a displayed content based on a reason for transporting one of the sheets to the reject unit.
2. The sheet handling apparatus according to claim 1, wherein:
the reason includes a first reason indicating that information for one of the sheets is uncertain; and
when the reason is the first reason, the control unit controls the display unit so as to display a mark indicating that the information for the sheet is uncertain.
3. The sheet handling apparatus according to claim 2, wherein:
the reason includes a second reason different from the first reason; and
when the reason is the second reason, the control unit controls the display unit so as not to display the mark.
4. The sheet handling apparatus according to claim 2 or 3, further comprising:
a stacking unit configured to stack one of the sheets that is determined not to be a
rejected sheet based on the recognition result by the recognition unit, wherein:
the display unit includes a plurality of display regions that satisfy a positional
relationship corresponding to positions where the stacking unit and the reject unit are
arranged; and
when the reason is the first reason, the control unit controls the display unit so as to
display the mark in a display region that is one of the plurality of display regions, the
display region corresponding to the position where the reject unit is arranged.
5. The sheet handling apparatus according to claim 4, wherein:
the control unit controls the display unit so as to display a character adjacent to the display region corresponding to the position where the reject unit is arranged, the character being for indicating information for the reject unit.
6. The sheet handling apparatus according to claim 4 or 5, wherein:
the stacking unit includes at least one opening;
an area of the display unit is larger than an area of any one of the at least one opening; and
at least one part of the display unit is disposed at a same height as the reject unit.
7. The sheet handling apparatus according to claim 6, wherein:
the stacking unit includes a first stacking unit and a second stacking unit; and
the at least one part of the display unit is disposed in a region between a center
position of the sheet handling apparatus and the reject unit in a direction in which the first
stacking unit and the second stacking unit are arranged side by side.
8. The sheet handling apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the
reject unit includes a stacking surface having a cut portion formed at a corner portion.
9. The sheet handling apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 8, further
comprising:
a feeding unit for feeding sheets to be handled to the transport unit, wherein: the feeding unit is disposed so as to overlap the reject unit in plan view.
10. The sheet handling apparatus according to claim 9, wherein:
the feeding unit is disposed on one side of the sheet handling apparatus, the reject unit is disposed on the one side; and
the display unit and the stacking unit are disposed on a front of the sheet handling apparatus.
