PASSENGER CONVEYOR BALUSTRADE DEVICE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a passenger conveyor balustrade device and particularly relates to a passenger conveyor balustrade device with skirt guards fixed to a frame. 2 . Description of the Background Art
As this type balustrade device, there has been heretofore proposed a balustrade device in which horizontal sides of L-shaped lower skirt bases are screwed to a frame side of a passenger conveyor by bolts and spring locking portions are attached to rear surfaces of skirt guards and embedded in vertical sides of the L-shaped lower skirt bases to thereby fix lower portions of the skirt guards to the frame side (e.g. see Patent Document 1).
Patent Document 1: JP-A-5-238669 (paragraph numbers 0009 to 0012, Fig. 1)
In the aforementioned device, it is however difficult to adjust the horizontal direction of the skirt guards finely because the horizontal sides of the lower skirt bases must be screwed up by bolts. That is, it is necessary to provide a predetermined gap between each skirt guard and a corresponding tread. However, if the horizontal sides of the lower skirt bases are once fixed by bolts, the lower skirt bases cannot be moved horizontally and, accordingly, the skirt guards cannot
be moved horizontally. The skirt guards are long. A plurality of lower skirt bases are provided in each skirt guard. It is necessary to loosen a plurality of bolts in order to adjust the horizontal direction of each skirt guard finely. There is a problem that a great deal of labor and time is required.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The invention is accomplished under such circumstances in the background art. An object of the invention is to provide a passenger conveyor balustrade device in which fine adjustment of a horizontal direction of skirt guards can be performed easily.
To achieve the foregoing object, the invention provides a passenger conveyor balustrade device including skirt guards provided oppositely on either side of treads endlessly connected and moved in a frame in a circulating manner so as to be disposed continuously along a direction of movement of the treads, and lower skirt bases which fix lower portions of the skirt guards to the frame side, wherein skirt base clips are provided on the frame side so that the skirt base clips grasp horizontal sides of the lower skirt bases to fix the lower portions of the skirt guards to the frame side.
In the invention configured as described above, the lower portions of the skirt guards are fixed to the frame side in such a manner that the horizontal sides of the lower skirt bases are grasped by the skirt base clips. Because a structure in which the horizontal sides of the
lower skirt bases are grasped by the skirt base clips is provided as described above, the horizontal direction of the skirt guards can be adjusted finely in a simple manner of knocking the lower portions of the skirt guards without necessity of the background-art process of loosening bolts.
According to the invention, because a structure in which the horizontal sides of the lower skirt bases are grasped by the skirt base clips is provided, the horizontal direction of the skirt guards can be adjusted finely in a simple manner of knocking the lower portions of the skirt guards so that reduction in labor and time necessary for work can be attained.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig. 1 is a partly enlarged view showing a passenger conveyor balustrade device according to an embodiment of the invention; and
Fig. 2 is a schematic configuration view of the balustrade device according to this embodiment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
An embodiment of the invention as to a passenger conveyor balustrade device will be described below with reference to the drawings.
Fig. 1 is a partly enlarged view showing a passenger conveyor balustrade device according to an embodiment of the invention, and Fig. 2 is a schematic configuration view of the balustrade device according to this embodiment.
As shown in Fig. 2, a passenger conveyor has a frame 1, treads 2, and a pair of balustrade devices 3. The frame 1 is formed from beams of a truss structure or the like and supports the weight of the passenger conveyor and the weight of passengers. The treads 2 are connected endlessly and moved in the frame 1 in a circulating manner.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, each balustrade device 3 has a balustrade panel 31, a moving handrail 32, skirt guards 33, an inner deck 34, a first support member 35, a second support member 36, a spring locking portion 37, a skirt base clip 38, and a lower skirt base 39. The balustrade panels 31 are placed erectly on both sides of the treads 2 and form main bodies of balustrades of the passenger conveyor. The moving handrails 32 are moved in a circulating manner in synchronism with the treads 2. The skirt guards 33 are disposed continuously along a direction of movement of the treads 2 . The inner deck 34 cover a range of from a lower side portion of the balustrade panel 31 to an upper side portion of each skirt guard 33. The first support member 35 is attached to the frame 1 and supports an upper portion of each skirt guard 33 and the inner deck 34 . The second support member 36 is attached to the frame 1 and supports the moving handrail 32 and a lower portion of each skirt guard 33. The spring locking portion 37 is provided on a rear surface of each skirt guard 33. The skirt base clip 38 is attached to the second support member 36 through a
bolt 38a. The lower skirt base 39 is L-shaped in sectional view and has a vertical side 39a fitted to the spring locking portion 37, and a horizontal side 39b grasped by the skirt base clip 38.
In this embodiment, after the horizontal side 39b of the lower skirt base 39 is put between the second support member 36 and the skirt base clip 38 in the condition that the bolt 38a of the skirt base clip 38 is loosened, the bolt 38a is tightened from this condition to thereby fix the lower portion of each skirt guard 33. Then, when the horizontal direction of the skirt guard 33 needs to be adjusted finely in order to set the gap h_ between the tread 2 and the skirt guard 33 to be equal to a predetermined value, the lower portion of the skirt guard 33 is knocked without loosening of the bolt 38a of the skirt base clip 38.
According to this embodiment, there is provided a structure in which the horizontal side 39b of the lower skirt base 39 is grasped by the skirt base clip 38. Therefore, the horizontal direction of each skirt guard 33 can be adjusted finely by a simple manner of knocking the lower portion of the skirt guard 33 and, accordingly, reduction in labor and time necessary for work can be attained.

What is claimed is:
1. A passenger conveyor balustrade device comprising skirt guards provided oppositely on either side of treads endlessly connected and moved in a frame in a circulating manner so as to be disposed continuously along a direction of movement of the treads, and lower skirt bases which fix lower portions of the skirt guards to the frame side, wherein skirt base clips are provided on the frame side so that the skirt base clips grasp horizontal sides of the lower skirt bases to fix the lower portions of the skirt guards to the frame side.
