BACKGROUND
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[0003] Conventionally, printed circuit boards are provided with fingers or connectors for connection with backplane/motherboard. For mating of PCB and backplane a guide mechanism is required to make interconnection intact and uninterrupted removal and insertion of PCB cards in chassis of electronic device. there are various PCB card cages or PCB card receiving assemblies available in the market. However, while inserting the PCB cards into the PCB card cage there is a high probability that the PCB cards can be inserted in wrong slot or position. Conventional PCB card cages are not capable of taking care of shocks or vibrations that the PCBs might encounter, and this may lead to detachment of the PCB cards from the conventional PCB card cage or receiving assembly. Also, conventional PCB card cages allow only PCB cards of same formfactor to be inserted in the PCB card cage.
[0004] There is, therefore, a need of an improved PCB card cage or PCB card receiving assembly that allows insertion, mounting & removal of PCB cards in chassis of electronic devices, when PCBs of different form factors are present in the equipment and needs to be mated with the backplane/PCBs.
