P H Sensor With Solid Electrodes

Abstract: pH SENSOR WITH SOLID ELECTRODES This disclosure is related to a portable sensor for measuring pH, wherein the sensor includes a solid outer casing of a fixed length with a fixed upper diameter and a fixed lower diameter, wherein the outer casing includes a first inner chamber comprising a first solid electrode having a fixed length preferably made of Antimony or like materials and coupled to a conducting wire, and a second inner chamber comprising a second solid electrode. The second solid electrode being larger than the first solid electrode, preferably made of materials like Silver and electrodeposited with silver chloride. The second solid electrode is coated with KCl saturated polymers likes PVC, PVB, PVA or like materials, and coupled to a conducting wire, wherein the second inner chamber is proximate to the first inner chamber, and an open circuit potential between the first solid electrode and the second solid electrode may be measured to obtain a pH value of the sample. The second electrode may be coated with another layer of same binding polymer without KCl saturation to prevent any leaching of KCl from the second solid electrode. Fig. 2D
