Phase Compensation Algorithm In Electronic Energy Meters
Abstract: Present invention describes a method to compensate and calibrate the phase shift of the current transformer (CT) used to measure the current. In the described invention at zero FIR filter at current channel and no filtering required at Voltage channel. i.e., any current input to electronic meter will be filtered before any use. Applying to an input of the electronic meter a test waveform having a 60 degree phase shift between voltage and current. Determining the error in active power due to phase shift using a standard external device. The method described herein uses only one digital filter with very less calculations and that is only at current channel. All other known similar inventions use one digital filter at current channel and one digital filter at voltage channel
