Phytochemical Oral Composition, Method Of Preparing The Same And Applications Thereof
Abstract: ABSTRACT PHYTOCHEMICAL-ORAL COMPOSITION, METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF The present disclosure broadly relates to an oral synergistic combination comprising thymol, cinnamaldehyde and usnic acid displaying effective antimicrobial properties against broad spectrum microbial strains, even in the case of inter-kingdom microbial associations. The present disclosure in particular, discloses a composition comprising: a) thymol having weight percentage in the range of 0.003% - 0.3% (w/w); b) cinnamaldehyde having weight percentage in the range of 0.004% - 0.4% (w/w); c) usnic acid having weight percentage in the range of 0.003% - 0.3% (w/w), wherein the weight ratio range of thymol to cinnamaldehyde to usnic acid is of 1:0.5:0.4 – 1:3:3. The present disclosure also discloses the process for preparing the said composition. Further, the use of present composition as mouthwash, toothpaste, tooth gel or chewing gum in oral healthcare is also disclosed herein.
