Abstract: A Pick-off test station is used for checking of scale factor and residual of highly sensitive Pick-off of control coils used in mechanical sensors like Gyro & Accelero.

PICK OFF TEST STATION
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is used for checking of scale factor and residual of highly
sensitive Pick-off of control coils used in mechanical sensors like Gyro & Accelero.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The sensors are installed on the platform, which is used to provide information
pertaining to the angle and position at which vehicle like aircraft is flying. The sensors
like gyro & accelero are meant for stabilizing the platform & position. Once the platform is
stabilized, the electrical force & acceleration applied to the sensors is used to calculate
the angle and position at which the vehicle like aircraft is flying. In production of above
sensors highly précised coils are used.
Hence, special type test equipment is required to test the accuracy of coils used in
sensors. The invention is able for testing of scale factor and residual of Pick-off control
coils used in sensors. To produce such accurate sensors like Gyro & Accelero, it is
required to test their performance during manufacturing at various stages by testing on
specially designed test equipments to deliver the required input signal and an electronics
network to measure the output signals accurately.
SUMMARY OF PRESENT INVENTION
In accordance with one aspect of present invention is capable of generating 10
Volt RMS at 19.2 KHz which is necessary requirement of Pick off Test Station.
In accordance with second aspect of present invention is capable of testing scale
factor and residuals of control coils used in sensors.

In accordance with another aspect of present invention is capable of generating
reference signals along with measurement of the same.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is capable the
generation of 6 Volt RMS at 19.2 KHz is performed by the functional tray.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is capable the amplifier
tray is capable of amplifying 6 Volt RMS at 19.2 KHz up to 10V, +/-2V at 19.2 KHz
without any distortion.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is capable the
controlling & switching whole system along with indication lamps.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide a housed
on 19” rack and easy to carrying with handle.
In accordance with one aspect of present invention is to provide compact &
rugged test equipment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The fig. 1 is the general view of the Pick-off test station; it was housed in a 19”
rack system. It consists of ON/OFF tray with provision of switches and indication lamp.
Present invention is consisting of Digital Multimeter, Digital Analyzing voltmeter and
counter for the measurement. The present invention also consists of customized
switching tray which generates the required reference signal for the testing of coils. The
next equipment of the Pick-off test station is Function generator, which generates the
necessary signal required for switching tray. The present invention consists of the
ventilation system for cooling of whole system. It has a provision to keep the tool in the
tool box.
The fig. 2 is the block diagram of the Pick-of test station; the main module of Pickoff
is Power amplifier module necessary power required for this module is supplied by
power supply module. Input of the power amplifier module is taken from Function
generator, a customized PCB design & invented, which will amplify the input signal up-to
the desired level. Further this signal is applied to the Pick-off transformer, which is
connected to special type tool for testing of coils, used in the sensors. Above invention is
itself able to provide all measurements of the signal with the help of available measuring
instruments (Digital Analyzing Volt Meter, Multi-Meter, Oscilloscope and Counter).
The fig. 3 is the plate assembly of the Pick-of test station; the connection of the
plate assembly 1 shows the detail of the on –off tray along with lamp indication. Plate
assembly 2 provides the sockets for interfacing of digital Multimeter and digital analyzing
voltmeter used for the measurements of available signals in Pick off test station. Five
number of test points are provided in the DAVM section of plate assembly 2 in which two
test points are used for the reference signal and two test points are for the signal under
measurement and one common test point for the grounding. Plate assemble 3 is used for
signal monitoring of Function generator & reference signal of Pick-off test station.
The fig. 4 is the general view of the switching tray; consists of front panel. Front
panel of switching tray has provision of testing two types of sensor’s coils & same is
selected with the help of switch S1, S2, SK1 & SK2. Switch S3 is provided for the coil
selection of sensor (X coil & Y coil). Switching tray has the provision for monitoring of
condenser box signal & generator box signal measurement.

2. The Pick-off test station of claim 1, wherein it is used for testing of sensors like gyro and Accelero for coil performance, which is used in various applications.
3. The Pick-off test station of claim 1, wherein it is capable of testing the scale factor & residuals of the coils accurately, which is used in various applications.
4. The Pick-off test station of claim 1, wherein it is capable of generating atleast one channel of 10 Volt RMS at 19.2 KHz with out any standard external source, same can be varied for other applications.
5. The Pick-off test station of claim 1, wherein the Pick-off test station is arranged in a 19” rack lid with carrying handle.
6. The Pick-off test station of claim 1, wherein the controlling & switching system of the test station is performed by the switching tray along with indication lamps.
7. The Pick-off test station of claim 1, wherein the generation of 6 Volt RMS at 9.2 KHz is performed by the functional tray.
8. The Pick-off test station of claim 1, wherein the amplifier tray is capable of amplifying atleast one channel of 6 Volt RMS at 19.2 KHz up to 10V, +/-2V at 19.2 KHz without any distortion. ,TagSPECI:As per Annexure-II
