Picture Color Tone Controlling Apparatus And Picture Color Tone Controlling Method For A Printing Press

Abstract: A picture tone control device of a printer and its method for controlling the tone with high accuracy even if printing is performed by using different screenings. The picture tone control device comprises printing characteristic information acquiring means for acquiring printing characteristic information of a printer corresponding to the type of the screening used to make a plate of a print picture, screening information acquiring means (18B) for acquiring the types of the screenings used for the regions of the print picture in association with the regions, pixel-of-interest region setting means (18A) for setting a specific pixel region as a pixel-of-interest region in the print picture of each ink supply zone of the printer, and ink supply amount control means (20) for controlling the amount of ink supplied according to the printing characteristic information corresponding to the type of the screening of the pixel-of-interest region.
