Abstract: ABSTRACT: This mechanism is provided to alleviate the cyclic stick with active vibration control system when switched ON during forward flight. Piezoelectric materials have seen a significant usage increase over the past decade. They have been found to be effective as either sensors or actuators in smart structure applications, which allows them to act more as an adaptive system rather than a passive system. Piezoelectric materials are very effective transducers which convert mechanical energy into electrical, energy, known as the direct piezoelectric effect or they have the ability to convert electrical energy to mechanical energy, known as the converse piezoelectric effect.
FIELD:
The present invention relates to a mechanism to alleviate cyclic stick shake in helicopter
BACKGROUND:
On some helicopter, "Cyclic Stick shake with AVCS ON" snag has been reported during forward flight that will yield in less comfort to the pilots. So introduction of piezoelectric actuator in the cyclic stick will alleviate the shake with AVCS ON during forward flight.
SUMMARY:
The present invention helps to avoid shaking of the cyclic stick during forward flight of the helicopters.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS:
Figure I shows the proposed mechanism of piezoelectric actuator with the cyclic stick along with feedback mechanism. During forward flight with AVCS ON only the piezoelectric actuator will restrict the shaking of cyclic stick ,and it will not restrict the movement of the stick during the flight/ground; this will be achieved by taking input from FDR/CVR potentiometer.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
During forward flight with active vibration control system ON only the piezoelectric actuator will restrict the shaking of cyclic stick and it will not restrict the movement of the stick during the flight/ground; this will be achieved by taking input from FDR potentiometer.
CLAIMS:
1. Mechanism; Piezoelectric actuator with feedback system
2. Controller to give input to the piezo.
