Piping Life Prediction Method

Abstract: This piping life prediction method includes: a step of polishing the surface of a piping which is formed from stainless steel and through which a high-temperature fluid flows; a step of taking a replica sample from the surface of the polished piping; a step of acquiring the quantity of microvoids formed in the replica sample by observing the replica sample with a scanning electron microscope or a laser microscope; and a step of predicting the service life of the piping on the basis of the quantity of the microvoids formed.
