Abstract: The present invention relates to a table top for sewing machines which is formed of recycled plastic .The sewing machine table top is in the form of a plate with the aperture for the sewing machine where the table top is placed on a frame. Characterized in that bottom surface of the table top comprises grooves for attaching wooden block so that the table frames of different sizes can be fixed or screwed easily. Steel rods/plate are installed on the lower surface of the table top to provide strength and to act as a spinal cord for the table top. The present invention is Environment friendly, as it discourages use of wood. Also, helps in reducing plastic waste from the environment, as this product is made by recycling plastic waste.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a table top for a sewing machine wherein the table top is made of recycled plastic which further includes steel plates to provide strength and rigidity to the plastic table.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A sewing table is a work table or desk used for sewing. Generally it is made of wood because of its easy availability in the market and also due to its cheap manufacturing cost.
Conventionally, these Sewing machine tables includes grooves and holes for the clamping of machine and these wooden structure table are relatively easy to secure their position and structure over the base. These wooden table top have evolved tremendously and improvements keep on increasing with better work life and structure.
US 3,26,294 discloses improvements in tabletops, especially those intended for use on sewing-machines; and it has -for its object to provide a firm structure in which the parts are so placed with relation to each other that the influence of expansion and contraction upon those parts subject thereto will not injure their surroundings. Heretofore it has been common to construct sewing-machine tables of a middle piece of soft cheap wood, tongued and grooved to the end and side pieces of the frame, which was composed of walnut or other fine and expensive wood, the grain of the soft-wood portion running crosswise of the table, and an upper and lower veneer placed over the table-top and glued thereto in the ordinary way.
US 35,66,816 discloses a sewing table with a novel and improved construction which performs a desired function both when the machine is stored and in its normal sewing position. Another object of the present invention is to provide a sewing table having a machine storage well with a two-position removable insert adapted to completely cover the storage well in one position and to cover the rear portion of the storage well only when in a
3
second position.Still yet a further object of the present invention is to provide for a plastic sewing table having a machine storage well, a unique construction for an insert for providing a cover for the storage well.
Inspite of having a lot of improvements, no solution or alternate is provided for the wood as more n more construction of table reduce the greenery of society .Wood also add on to some more problems like its weight which hamper the movability of machine. Also wood as a material doesnot provide smoothness to a certain extent due to its wear n tear problem over time. These wooden table comes with the disadvantage of absorbing moisture or water spills resulting in decrement of table life.
Despite of the aforementioned drawbacks there is seen a need for the improved sewing machine table top which can be used for a longer period of time and also not increasing the cost of production as well.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art. An object of the present invention is to provide a table top for sewing machine which is made of recycled plastic The table is both for basic machines and for specialized machines. The sewing machine table consists of a tabletop in the form of a plate with an aperture for the sewing machine, where the tabletop is placed on a frame. A wooden block is implanted on the lower side of the plastic table so that machine frame is easily attached to the plastic table top. In particular it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved table that is designed to be used with a commercial type sewing machine which is less expensive than the present used wooden tables and yet is more durable, and which can be interchangeably used

with a plurality of different machines. Further object of the present invention is to provide smoothness to the table due to its finish on the plastic surface. As it also increases the durability and strength. Another object of the present invention is to discourage the use of wood as it is very necessary for environment adding on to its abilities this plastic table top also help in reducing plastic waste from environment which makes it both ways environment friendly. The foregoing and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a table top for sewing machine tables where the tables are formed of recycled plastic and these plastic table top includes steel rods to provide rigidity and strength to the table .Structure of the table top is described as follows:
1. A table top for sewing machine composed of recycled plastic wherein the upper surface of the table is planar whereas the bottom surface is formed of hatched plastic structure, further round edges 10 are formed along the length of the table top.
2. The table top includes a rectangular opening 01 for receiving of machine and two small rectangular slots 02 adjacent to opening 01, whereas metal plate bush 05 are also provided for locking of top cover.
3. The rectangular opening further comprises two hinges bush 03 at one side of rectangular opening and two rubber pad lock cutout 04 at other side of the opening
4. The bottom surface of the table top comprise several drawer strip mounting bush 06 and two molded area 08 along the length of table top for installing metal plate
5
5. The bottom surface comprises four rectangular grooves 09 for attaching wooden blocks with the help of screw holes 07.
According to an embodiment of the present invention, the outstanding advantages attainable by the practice of our invention resides in the fact that these table tops are fully impervious to moisture and oil and additionally are not affected by climatic conditions or by sudden changes in climatic conditions. The possibility of warpage is obviated and the danger of the table boards becoming stained or impregnated with highly objectionable oil is fully eliminated. Moreover, neither the degree of smoothness nor the color of the finish is affected by wear, the plastic continuing to be substantially glare-free without regard to the extent of the wear.
According to another embodiment of the present invention these plastic table tops are not unpleasant to touch and further that the same are resistant to heat such as that occasioned by placing lighted cigarettes or cigars thereon.
An another embodiment of the present invention is to make a Aesthetically beautiful product, as it can be made in various finishes i.e, glossy, matte, printed, etc. and also it is light weight compared to conventional wooden table top.
While the invention has been described and shown with particular reference to the preferred embodiment, it will be apparent that variations might be possible that would fall within the scope of the present invention.
