Plated Steel Material

Abstract: This plated steel material comprises a steel material and a plating layer which includes a Zn-Al-Mg alloy layer arranged on the surface of the steel material, wherein the plating layer has a prescribed chemical composition. On the surface of the Zn-Al-Mg alloy layer, there are dendritic MgZn2 phases with a surface roughness Sa of less than or equal to 50 nm; the surface area ratio of said dendritic MgZn2 phases with the surface roughness Sa of less than or equal to 50 nm is 30%-80% in a 5 mm2 observation field of view; and, of the dendritic MgZn2 phases with the surface roughness Sa less than or equal to 50 nm, the number of dendritic MgZn2 phases that have a surface area of greater than or equal to 0.1 mm2 is 5-100 within in a 25 mm2 observation field of view.
