Abstract: The present invention relates to a modular tool and handle to facilitate disassembly of pneumatic ram with ease and without any damage. The said pneumatic ram disassembly tool (1) comprises, a circular base ring (2) with threaded holes; plurality of removable inserts (3) mounted on said base ring; and a torquing handle (4) with threaded portion on one end, for mounting on the outside threaded holes of said base ring (2). Further, the said modular tool can disassemble all different parts of the pneumatic ram.
DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION:
The present invention generally relates to a disassembling tool. More particularly, the present invention relates to a modular tool to facilitate disassembly of pneumatic ram with ease and without any damage. The present invention further relates to a method of dismantling pneumatic ram using the said modular tool.
BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART:
Pneumatic rams, also called as pneumatic actuators or a pneumatic cylinder, is a mechanism used to provide linear or rotary force to automated systems, it also has a wide variety of industrial applications.
A pneumatic ram works when compressed air is forced into the cylinder and moves the piston inside the cylinder. It generates enough power to power the mechanism attached to the system and create practical movements such as in air guns, sprayers, or a pick-and-place system in factory automation.
Pneumatic ram is an important and critical equipment for submarines, as it is a part of weapon launching system. Considering its importance, the said pneumatic ram has to undergo periodic maintenance as per schedule mentioned in Pneumatic Ram Overall Maintenance Document (OMD). Further, to be able to perform maintenance, the pneumatic ram needs to be dismantled. The pneumatic ram being of the telescopic type, the special nuts used for tightening of the pneumatic ram are of different sizes.
Conventionally, the disassembly of pneumatic ram was carried out using basic engineering tools such as hammer, chisel, etc. This would lead to damage of the pneumatic ram. Thus, there is a need of a modular tool that can dismantle all the different parts of the said pneumatic ram without any damage to the pneumatic ram.
The present invention thus discloses a modular tool to facilitate disassembly of pneumatic ram with easy and without any damage, and a method thereof.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
It is an object of the present invention to provide a modular tool to disassemble a pneumatic ram, and all the different parts of the said pneumatic ram.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a modular tool to facilitate disassembly of pneumatic ram with easy and without any damage.
The disassembly tool according to the present invention comprises plurality of inserts for different nut size.
Accordingly, the said pneumatic ram disassembly tool comprises, a circular base ring with threaded holes; plurality of removable inserts mounted on said base ring; and a torquing handle with threaded portion on one end, for mounting on the outside threaded holes of said base ring.
Further, the said tool can be used for different sized securing means such as nuts, by changing the inserts of the tool accordingly.
The present invention further relates to a method of operation of disassembling tool for pneumatic ram.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention is described herein in detail with the help of figures appended at the end of the specification. The figures illustrate the preferred embodiment as well as other embodiments that define the scope of the present invention. However, it may be understood that the figures presented herein are intended to exemplify the scope of the invention only. The person skilled in art may note that by no means the figures limit the scope of the invention. Any variation in the drawings by any other person will be falling in the scope of the present invention.
As illustrated in Figures 1, disassembly modular tool and handle for pneumatic ram is disclosed. Further, the modular tool according to the present invention can disassemble all different parts of the pneumatic ram.
In a preferred embodiment according to the present invention, a pneumatic ram disassembly tool (1) comprises, a circular base ring (2) with threaded holes; plurality of removable inserts (3) mounted on said base ring (2); and a torquing handle (4) with threaded portion on one end, for mounting on the outside threaded holes of said base ring (2).
In a same preferred embodiment according to the present invention, said tool (1) is made of material selected from stainless steel.
In a same preferred embodiment according to the present invention, a method for disassembling a pneumatic ram using tool (1) comprises the steps of, measuring the dimensions of a securing means to be disassembled; selecting the suitable inserts (3) according to the size of the securing means; mounting the selected insert (3) on a base ring (2); engaging the entire tool assembly (1) against the securing means to be disassembled; attaching the torquing handle (4) and applying sufficient torque for assembling or disassembling the securing means.
Further, the said tool according to the present invention can be used for various other similar parts and is not limited to pneumatic ram. Furthermore, the said tool can be used for different parts, size or nuts of by changing the inserts of the tool accordingly.
The advantages of the present invention include, ease of use, compact and no damage to pneumatic ram.

a circular base ring (2) with threaded holes;
plurality of removable inserts (3) mounted on said base ring (2); and
a torquing handle (4) with threaded portion on one end, for mounting on the outside threaded holes of said base ring (2).
2. The tool (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said tool (1) is made of material selected from stainless steel.
3. A method for disassembling a pneumatic ram using tool (1) comprises the steps of,
measuring the dimensions of a securing means to be disassembled;
selecting the suitable inserts (3) according to the size of the securing means;
mounting the selected insert (3) on a base ring (2);
engaging the entire tool assembly (1) against the securing means to be disassembled;
attaching the torquing handle (4) and applying sufficient torque for assembling or disassembling the securing means.
