Abstract: A pneumatic spinning machine (1) includes: a drafting device (6) having a front roller (17a) and executing a draft operation to draft a fiber bundle (S); a spinning device (7) disposed downstream from the drafting device (6) and configured to generate yarn (Y) by spinning the fiber bundle (S); a winding device (13) disposed downstream from the spinning device (7) and configured to wind the yarn (Y) ; and a control unit (10) configured to allow the front roller (17a) to rotate at least temporarily at a second speed slower than a first speed, that is a speed at a time of normal spinning, during a period after occurrence of disconnection of yarn (Y) and before execution of yarn joining, and start rotation of the front roller (17a) at the first speed or at a third speed slower than the first speed in response to a yarn joining request.
