Specification

Description:Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to the field of pole mounting assembly. More specifically, the present invention relates to pole mounted enclosure retaining assembly which requires less effort and cost for fixing the device or same to the pole.
Background of the Invention
This section is intended to provide information relating to the field and background of the invention and thus any approach/functionality described below should not be assumed to be qualified as prior art merely by its inclusion in this section.
Mounting of articles on poles or pole like structures is a regular need especially in street pole related activities. Numerous articles require installation on a pole. Many articles like junction boxes, control boxes for street light, data transmission, capacitor banks, switching systems, cameras, wireless transmitters etc. are all fitted on the poles due to the advantage of location. They are typically installed using a frame that is shaped according to the pole size and shape. One major challenge lies in making the mechanical link between the articles and the pole easy to implement and to ensure the needed bonding and reliability in the long run. For this purpose, a variety of brackets, nuts, and bolts are strips are used depending on the pole size and shape.
Most of the electrical or electronics enclosures/cabinets mounted on poles have not proper solutions for fixing on poles. Most of the time enclosures are fitted with a straight bolt throughout the enclosure and pole, this mostly damages/breaks plastic enclosures due to stress created with tighten the bolt. Sometimes extra steel plate with U-clamp is used to mount the enclosures on the pole. This is very expensive, corrosive and difficult for clamping. In many applications, if the enclosures are for premium segments, this is not an aesthetic solution.
Since certain poles have circular circumference while some have rectangular circumference, the frames need to be shaped to suit the need for a particular application. Adjustment for the frame around the pole is not possible in the field. Also, the persons responsible for fixing the article spend time and resources to mobilize a bracket or other apparatus suitable to that pole.
There are many disadvantages with the former approaches like there is a need to find the frame based on the specific pole shape and size. This increases the time and resource needed for the procurement process.
A single individual is unable to complete the installation procedure of an article. Currently available systems require one person to fix the frame while the other handles the article simultaneously. Currently available systems need at least 2 people in order to safely install an article on a pole without causing damage at any point.
Further, the person is unable to adjust the frame size if the pole shape and size demand it in the field. Repeated procurements based on the custom requirements of certain poles increasing the cost and time required for the installation process.
Further, the structure was unable to withstand extreme weather conditions such as rain, heat and cold without compromising on its performance.
In one US patent number US8403289B1, invention describes a universal bracket is provided for mounting electrical boxes. The bracket includes a generally rectangular first plate having at least one aperture defined within the first plate. The aperture is shaped to provide access to an electrical box mounted to the first plate, and further includes first and second pairs of diagonally opposite corners. A second plate extends rearward and substantially perpendicular to the first plate and located proximate a first side of the aperture. The first plate further includes one or more fastening portions and a plurality of mounting holes disposed about the fastening portions. One or more of the mounting holes are positioned for mounting the bracket to a vertical structural member adjacent either of two opposite sides of the bracket or a horizontal element adjacent a third side of the bracket, maintaining a particular bracket orientation.
In the other US patent application number US2016099555A1, invention describes improvements in a universal box mounting adapter and system for mounting 4? and 4 11/16? boxes directly to stud using side tabs. In addition, the UBM features a bendable back support for rigid installations. The novel feature of this product is the integral conduit support flange. This flange features slots and pinholes for use with a wide assortment of conduit supporting accessories. The adapter can be used with a kick bracket for placing junction boxes between studs at desired heights. The kick bracket can be mounted either vertically or horizontally and features pinholes along the length for adjusting the location of the adapter. Along with integral wings for supporting the kick bracket when installed vertically, the adapter and kick bracket make up a system of configurations to meet the needs of an installer. The adapter is configurable for installing multiple boxes between either 16? or 24? studs.
In the other US patent application number US3808504A, invention describes traffic control box assembly consisting of a back panel permanently secured to a pole, with the field wiring terminating thereon at terminal strips and at a multiple-terminal female socket unit. The major part of the control system is contained in a main housing having vertically aligned hinge loops at a rear corner, the hinge loops being engageable on upstanding hinge pins at one side edge of the back panel, so that the main housing is hinged to but is readily removable from the back panel. The portion of the control system in the main housing is provided with a multiple-pin male plug unit which mates with the female socket unit to establish the required circuit connections. Normally the main housing is bolted to the back panel, but when it must be removed for servicing, it is unbolted and disengaged from the back panel, and may be immediately replaced by an operative substitute assembly. In an alternative form, the main housing is mounted on a horizontal support panel from which it can be detached for immediate replacement by an operative similar assembly.
In the other Korean patent application number KR20100081513A, invention describes a ballast case assembly for a security lamp is provided to easily install a ballast case for a security lamp by installing a ballast case for a security lamp by installing a ballast case for a security lamp to an electric pole. A support part (110) is installed in the upper of an electric pole. A hanger, which is fixed to a hanging opening (113) of the support part with a hook method, is included in the upper side of a rear surface. A stabilizer (120) for a security lamp light emission is included in a ballast case for a security lamp. The support part comprises a flat body and a pair of fixed wings (112). The hanging opening is formed in the upper of a body (111).
Problems of existing metal clamps with plates have disadvantages including (a) very corrosive and not suitable for long term, (b) heavy weight due to metal and chances of damaging plastic enclosures, (c) difficult to clamp on poles and need experienced installer, (d) chances of short circuits due to metallic structures, (e) waterproof issues chances of entering water through holes of clamps, (f) higher installation charges because it is time consuming, (g) less aesthetics and (h) not suitable for premium segments.
Therefore, to overcome the complexity and drawbacks discussed above, there is need of a pole mounting mechanism which is friendly to single handed operations, can withstand heat and cold without compromising on its performance, and can be mounted on any pole irrespective of any shape. Also, there is a need of the pole mounting mechanism which is cost effective and easy to assemble and disassemble.
