Abstract: Disclosed are: a porous carbon material having impurities removed therefrom; a preparation method therefor; and a cathode for a lithium-sulfur battery and a lithium-sulfur battery, including the carbon material as a cathode active material, whereby the charging over-voltage problem of battery can be solved, by applying the porous carbon material having impurities such as moisture removed therefrom through pre-treatment to the cathode for a lithium-sulfur battery. The porous carbon material has a specific surface area of 200 to 1,700 m2/g, and impurities are removed through pre-treatment using microwaves.
