Abstract: The present invention relates to a positive electrode for a lithium-sulfur battery, and includes a sulfur-carbon composite as a positive electrode active material. The sulfur-carbon composite includes a porous carbon material having a high specific surface area and is structurally characterized in that the total volume of pores in the carbon material and the volume of pores having a specific diameter are controlled to be within a specific range. The lithium-sulfur battery having the sulfur-carbon composite applied thereto, according to the present invention, has an effect of reducing initial irreversible capacity and improving output characteristics and life characteristics.
