Power Converter Apparatus And Method

Abstract: A power converter apparatus (100) comprises a set of switching elements (210-220) communicatively coupled with a set of gate drive circuits (250). Each gate drive circuit (250) (57) configured to provide a respective signal (57) to a corresponding switching element (210-220), each switching element (210-220) being switchably responsive to the respective drive signal (57). The apparatus (100) includes a controller module (126) configured to control an output state (402, 404, 406, 408, 410) of the power converter (100), and selectively change one of a respective gate resistance (80, 90) and a respective gate current (Ig) (250) based on the output state (402, 404, 406, 408, 410) of the power converter.
