The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.

FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to vehicle power steering tank support structures and more particularly to a new compact bracket to reduce weight and improve steering piping routing on a single formed sheet metal bracket.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Various bracket constructions have been employed to support the steering tank of the vehicle at a predetermined position on the vehicle chassis or within the vehicle body to permit easy refilling of steering oil and easy serviceability. Generally, these brackets are secured to the support structure forward of the vehicle body or chassis such as backside of the cab or on the long member or on the cross member. These brackets preferably cast or fabricated.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a steering tank support structure for a vehicle comprising comprising a base member; two side walls extending outwardly from said base member and each outwardly extending side wall terminating in a flange member horizontally disposed thereto, said side walls having protrusions; said base member having mounting holes for fixedly mounting said structure on a long member of the vehicle and said flange members having mounting holes for fixedly mounting the steering tank to said structure .

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Referring now to the drawings wherein the showings are for the purpose of illustrating a preferred embodiment of the invention only, and not for the purpose of limiting the same.
Referring to the figures, the power steering tank (2) is supported by a steering tank support bracket (1). The support bracket (1) having two mounting portions (1\ 1"), a bottom portion (T) and a top portion (1"). The bottom portion is a base member(r) to mount the structure on a long member (7) of the vehicle and top portion (1") is to connect to the steering tank (2) by bolts. The top portion (1") is provided with flanges (10, 11) connect to the steering tank (2). Side walls extending outwardly from the base member connects the base member to the top flanges (10, 11). The support bracket (1) is having of open channel trapezoidal sectional shape with the top portion (1") having larger mounting area compared to the bottom portion (1'). Necessary mounting holes are provided on the base

member (I') and flanges (10,11). As shown in figure 4 & 5 the side walls connecting the top and bottom portion having protrusions (12) to increase the stiffness of the bracket.
Advantages
Steering tank support is taken with steel formed bracket of a open channel trapezoidal shaped cross section with open flanges. This peculiar shape of bracket solves packaging problems on the frame. Cross section of bracket minimizes weight and reduces the manufacturing operations and cost. The compact shape of the bracket will improve steering piping routing.

It should be appreciated that this embodiment is described for purpose of illustration only, and that numerous alterations and modifications may be practiced by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. It is intended that all such modifications and alterations be included insofar as they come within the scope of the invention as claimed or the equivalents thereof.

WE CLAIM
1 A steering tank support structure for a vehicle comprising a base member; two side walls extending outwardly from said base member and each outwardly extending side wall terminating in a flange member horizontally disposed thereto, said side walls having protrusions; said base member having mounting holes for fixedly mounting said structure on a long member of the vehicle and said flange members having mounting holes for fixedly mounting the steering tank to said structure .
2 The steering tank support structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein the flanges having larger surface area than the base portion.
3 The steering tank support structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said support bracket is fabricated out of single steel sheet material
4 The steering tank support structure as claimed in claims 1 to 4, substantially as herein described with particular reference to the figures in the accompanying drawings
