Abstract: Power transmission drive mechanism (100) for base cutter (10B) and knockdown rollers(10K) in sugarcane harvester (10) is provided.  The power transmission drive mechanism (100) mainly comprises a driving means (102), a plurality of power transmission members (104), at least one connecting means (106) and a tensioner (108). The driving means (102) is adapted to drive the base cutter (10B) and the knockdown rollers (10K) through the plurality of power transmission members (104) and the connecting means (106). The power transmission drive mechanism (100) uses single driving means (102) for driving the base cutter (10B) and the knockdown roller (10K).  Fig. 2

DESC:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The embodiments herein generally relate to a sugarcane harvester and more particularly, to a power transmission drive mechanism for a base cutter and knockdown rollers in the sugarcane harvester.

BACKGROUND
[002] Sugarcane harvester is an agricultural machine which is used to harvest sugarcane. Power transmission to a base cutter and knock down rollersare provided through separate hydraulic motors. The configuration of providing separate hydraulic motor for driving the base cutter and knock down rollers is complex in design, consumes more packaging space and incurs high cost.
[003] Therefore, there exists a need for a power transmission drive mechanism for a base cutter and knockdown rollers in a sugarcane harvester, which obviate the aforementioned drawbacks.

OBJECTS

[004] The principal object of embodimentsherein is toprovide apower transmission drive mechanism for a base cutter and knockdown rollers in a sugarcane harvester.
[005] Another object of embodiments herein is to provide apower transmission drive mechanism for a sugarcane harvester, which comprises a single driving means for driving a base cutter and knockdown rollers.
[006] Another object of embodiments herein is to provide apower transmission drive mechanism for a base cutter and knock down rollers in a sugarcane harvester, which incurs less cost.
[007] These and other objects of the embodimentsherein will be better appreciated and understood when considered in conjunction with following description and accompanying drawings. It should be understood, however, that the following descriptions, while indicating embodiments and numerous specific details thereof, are given by way of illustration and not of limitation. Many changes and modifications may be made within the scope of the embodiments herein without departing from the spirit thereof, and the embodiments herein include all such modifications.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[008] The embodiments disclosed herein are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, throughout which like reference letters indicate corresponding parts in various figures. The embodiments herein will be better understood from the following description with reference to the drawings, in which:
[009] Fig. 1 depicts a side view of a sugarcane harvester with a base cutter and knockdown rollers, according to embodiments as disclosed herein.
[0010] Fig. 2 depicts a perspective view of a power transmission drive mechanism for the base cutter and knockdown rollers in the sugarcane harvester, according to embodiments as disclosed herein;
[0011] Fig. 3 depicts a side view of the power transmission drive mechanism coupled with the base cutter and knockdown rollers, according to embodiments as disclosed herein; and
[0012] Fig. 4 depicts a perspective view of the knockdown rollers rotatably coupled with gears of the power transmission drive mechanism, according to embodiments as disclosed herein.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0013] The embodiments herein and the various features and advantageous details thereof are explained more fully with reference to the non-limiting embodiments that are illustrated in the accompanying drawings and detailed in the following description. Descriptions of well-known components and processing techniques are omitted so as to not unnecessarily obscure the embodiments herein. The examples used herein are intended merely to facilitate an understanding of ways in which the embodiments herein may be practiced and to further enable those of skill in the art to practice the embodiments herein. Accordingly, the examples should not be construed as limiting the scope of the embodiments herein.
[0014] The embodiments herein achieve apower transmission drive mechanism for a base cutter and knock down rollers in a sugarcane harvester. Referring now to the drawings Figs 1 through 4, where similar reference characters denote corresponding features consistently throughout the figures, there are shown embodiments.
[0015] Fig. 1 depicts a side view of a sugarcane harvester (10) with a base cutter (10B) and knockdown rollers (10K), according to embodiments as disclosed herein. Fig. 2 depicts a perspective view of a power transmission drive mechanism (100) for the base cutter (10B) and knockdown rollers (10K) in the sugarcane harvester (10), according to embodiments as disclosed herein.In an embodiment, the sugarcane harvester (10) includes a power transmission drive mechanism (100), a plurality of knockdown rollers (10K) and a base cutter (10B). The power transmission drive mechanism (100) is used to drive the base cutter (10B) and the plurality of knockdown rollers (10K). Each knockdown roller (10K) is used to bend the sugarcanes forward to the base cutter (10B). The base cutter (10B) is adapted to cut the sugarcanes at a distance from ground. In an embodiment, the power transmission drive mechanism (100) includes a driving means (102), a plurality of power transmission members (104), at least one connecting means (106) and a tensioner (108). For the purpose of this description and ease of understanding, the power transmission drive mechanism (100) is adapted to drive the base cutter (10B) and the plurality of knockdown rollers (10K) in the sugarcane harvester (10). It is also within the scope of the embodiment herein to provide the power transmission drive mechanism (100) for driving any other components or any other rollers present in the sugarcane harvester.
[0016] In an embodiment, the driving means (102) is adapted to drive the base cutter (10B) and the plurality of knockdown rollers (10K) through the plurality of power transmission members (104) and the connecting means (106).The driving means (102) is at least a hydraulic motor. It is also within the scope of embodiments herein to provide any other motors or any driving members for driving the base cutter (10B) and the knockdown rollers (10K) without otherwise deterring the intended function of the driving means (102) as can be deduced from the description and corresponding drawings. The driving means (102) is adapted to drive the base cutter (10B) and the plurality of knockdown rollers (10K) through the plurality of power transmission members (104) and the connecting means (106). The driving means (102) is secured to a front tool frame (not shown).
[0017] The plurality of power transmission members (104) includes a drive pulley (104A), a base cutter pulley (104B), a knockdown pulley (104C), a drive gear (104D, as shown in fig. 4) and a plurality of driven gears (104E, as shown in fig. 3 and fig. 4). The drive pulley (104A) is adapted to be mounted onto the driving means (102) and engaged with the connecting means (106).The drive pulley (104A) is connected to the base cutter pulley (104B) and the knockdown pulley (104C) through the connecting means (106). The drive pulley (104A) is driven by the driving means (102) and the drive pulley (104A) in turn drives the base cutter pulley (104B) and the knockdown pulley (104C) through the connecting means (106). The base cutter pulley (104B) is adapted to be rotatably coupled with the base cutter (10B) and engaged with the connecting means (106). The base cutter pulley (104B) is mounted onto an input shaft (not shown) of the base cutter (10B). The base cutter pulley (104B) is driven by the driving means (102) through the drive pulley (104A) and the connecting means (106), and the base cutter pulley (104B) in turn drives the base cutter (10B). The knockdown pulley (104C) is adapted to be mounted onto an intermediate shaft (104I) and engaged with the connecting means (106). The drive gear (104D) is adapted to be mounted onto the intermediate shaft (104I). The drive gear (104D) is driven by the knockdown pulley (104C) and drive gear (104D) in turn drives the plurality of driven gears (104E). The drive gear (104D) is at least a spur gear. It is also within the scope of embodiments herein to provide the drive gear (104D) in any other forms of gears. Each driven gear (104E) is adapted to be rotatably coupled with the drive gear (104D) and corresponding each knockdown roller (10K). Each driven gear (104E) is at least a spur gear. It is also within the scope of embodiments herein to provide each driven gear (104E) in any other forms of gears. The knockdown pulley (104C) is driven by the driving means (102) the rough the drive pulley (104A) and the connecting means (106) and the knockdown pulley (104C) in turn drives the knockdown rollers (10K) through the drive gear (104D) and the driven gears (104E).
[0018] In an embodiment, the connecting means (106) is adapted to connect the plurality of power transmission members (104) with the driving means (102). The connecting means (106) is at least a belt. The tensioner (108) is adapted to maintain tension of the connecting means (106). The tensioner (108) is adapted to guide the connecting means (106) and maintain the connecting means tight by spring force.The tensioner (108) is secured to the front tool frame (not shown). It is also within the scope of embodiments herein to use sprockets and chain instead of pulleys and belt for transmitting power from the driving means (102) to the base cutter (10B) and the plurality of knockdown rollers (10K).
[0019] Therefore, a power transmission drive mechanism (100) with a single driving means (102) for driving a base cutter (10B) and the plurality of knockdown rollers (10K), is provided in a sugarcane harvester (10).
[0020] The foregoing description of the specific embodiments will so fully reveal the general nature of the embodiments herein that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily modify and/or adapt for various applications such specific embodiments without departing from the generic concept, and, therefore, such adaptations and modifications should and are intended to be comprehended within the meaning and range of equivalents of the disclosed embodiments. It is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation. Therefore, while the embodiments herein have been described in terms of embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the embodiments herein can be practiced with modification within the spirit and scope of the embodiments as described herein.
,CLAIMS:. Apower transmission drive mechanism (100) for base cutter (10B) and knockdown rollers(10K) in a sugarcane harvester (10), said power transmission drive mechanism (100) comprising:
a driving means (102);
a plurality of power transmissions members (104); and
at least one connecting means (106) adapted to connect said plurality of power transmission members (104) with said driving means (102),
wherein
said driving means (102) is adapted to drive the base cutter (10B) and the knockdown rollers (10K) through said plurality of power transmission members (104) and said connecting means (106).

2. The power transmission drive mechanism (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plurality of power transmission members (104) comprises,
a drive pulley (104A) adapted to be mounted onto said driving means (102) and engaged with said connecting means (106).

3. The power transmission drive mechanism (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plurality of power transmission members (104) comprises,
a base cutter pulley (104B) adapted to be rotatably coupled with the base cutter (10B) and engaged with said connecting means (106),
wherein
said base cutter pulley (104B) is driven by said driving means (102) and said base cutter pulley (104B) in turn drives the base cutter (10B).

4. The power transmission drive mechanism (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plurality of power transmission members (104) comprises,
a knockdown pulley (104C) adapted to be mounted onto an intermediate shaft (104I) and engaged with said connecting means (106).

5. The power transmission drive mechanism (100) as claimed in claim 4, wherein said plurality of power transmission members (104) comprises,
a drive gear (104D) adapted to be mounted onto the intermediate shaft (104I) and driven by said knockdown pulley (104C); and
a plurality of driven gears (104E), where each of said driven gear (104E) is adapted to be rotatably coupled with said drive gear (104D) and corresponding each knockdown roller (10K),
wherein
said knockdown pulley (104C) is driven by said driving means (102) and said knockdown pulley (104C) in turn drives the knock down rollers (10K) through said drive gear (104D) and said driven gears (104E).

6. The power transmission drive mechanism (100) as claimed in claim 4, wherein said drive gear (104D) is at least a spur gear; and
each of said driven gear (104E) is at least a spur gear.

7. The power transmission drive mechanism (100) as claimed in claim1, wherein said power transmission drive mechanism (100) comprises,
a tensioner (108) adapted to maintain tension of said connecting means (106).

8. The power transmission drive mechanism (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said driving means (102) is at least a hydraulic motor.

9. The power transmission drive mechanism (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said connecting means (106) is at least a belt.
