Abstract: The present disclosure provides a composition comprising: a) Zingiber officinale extract; b) Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract; and c) Ocimum sanctum extract, wherein the Zingiber officinale extract to the Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract to the Ocimum sanctum extract weight ratio is in a range of 1-56:1-10:1-3. The compositions of the present disclosure are effective in promoting the growth of gastrointestinal microflora, thereby improving gut health, and also inhibits pathogenic growth. The present disclosure further provides a convenient process for preparing the composition.
I/We Claim:
1. A composition comprising:
a) Zingiber officinale extract;
b) Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract; and
c) Ocimum sanctum extract,
wherein the Zingiber officinale extract to the Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract to the Ocimum sanctum extract weight ratio is in a range of 1-56:1-10:1-3.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Zingiber officinale extract to the Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract to the Ocimum sanctum extract weight ratio is in a range of 1-56:1-10:1.
3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Zingiber officinale extract has a weight percentage in a range of 0.01-0.2% with respect to the composition.
4. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract has a weight percentage in a range of 0.01-0.2% with respect to the composition.
5. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Ocimum sanctum extract has a weight percentage in a range of 0.0005-0.08%) with respect to the composition.
6. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Zingiber officinale extract comprises gingerols having a weight percentage in a range of 5-8% with respect to the Zingiber officinale extract.
7. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract comprises polyphenol having a weight percentage in a range of 10-12% with respect to the Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract.
8. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Ocimum sanctum extract comprises bitters content having a weight percentage in a range of 2.5-5% with respect to the Ocimum sanctum extract.
9. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the composition further comprises at least one excipient selected from a group consisting of fibre, fats, protein, vitamin, mineral, multigrain flour, and combinations thereof.
10. A process for preparing the composition as claimed in claim 1, said process comprising:
a) obtaining the Zingiber officinale extract;
b) obtaining the Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract;
c) obtaining the Ocimum sanctum extract; and
d) contacting the Zingiber officinale extract, the Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract, and the Ocimum sanctum extract, to obtain the composition.
11. A process for preparing the composition as claimed in claim 9, said process
comprising:
a) obtaining the Zingiber officinale extract;
b) obtaining the Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract;
c) obtaining the Ocimum sanctum extract;
d) obtaining the at least one excipient; and
e) contacting the Zingiber officinale extract, the Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract, the Ocimum sanctum extract, and the at least one excipient, to obtain the composition.
