Preliminary Cooling Of Moulding Sand By Precooling Setup

Abstract: The average outlet temperature of green sand mould in the existing setup was 44 oC. However, the optimum temperature was 37 ~ 39 oC. This could not be met with the existing setup. Due to this reason, the proposed preliminary cooling model is implemented into the existing model. Here there are two stages in which cooling occurs. In the first stage based on the presence of sand, water is sprayed. In the second stage based on the temperature of sand (i.e., if temperature =70 oC) water is sprayed, without affecting the properties of the green sand.

Specification

Claims:A preliminary cooling of moulding sand by precooling setup
1. The pre cooling setup consists of a sand detector, Y- Type Valve, Sand Homogenizer and Temperature sensor mounted on it.
2. The setup as tendency to reduce the temperature of moulding sand to 37 oC.
3. According to claim 2, the setup is used to cool the sand, without affecting the properties.
4. According to claim 1, sand homogenizer has effective homogenize of hot sand towards the top.
5. According to Claim 4, if the sand temperature is greater than 70 oC, Y-type valve opens at stage 2 and sprinkle the water.
, Description:First the sand from the shakeout enters into stage 1, where sand detector will detect the presence of sand in the conveyor then Y- type opens and water will be sprinkled, then sand homogenizer will homogenise the sand so hot sand will be on top, temperature will be sensed in temperature is above 70-degree, Y – type valve opens and sprinkle water to it. So, the sand before enters to existing setup it will be in the optimal range.
