We, TTK PRESTIGE LIMITED, an Indian company incorporated under Companies Act of 1956, having its principal place of business at 11th floor, Brigade Towers,No.135, Brigade Road, Bangalore - 560 025, State of Karnataka, India.

The following specification describes the nature of this invention:-

FIELD OF INVENTION:
The invention relates to pressure cooker handles and pressure cooker lids.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION:
The invention relates to a outer lid Pressure cooker, which incorporates a new feature in the lid design, which prevents the froth from overflowing down the lid of a Pressure cooker, thus ensuring a safer and cleaner cooker experience, besides an improvement in pressure cooker handle which is extremely unique and distinguished from a conventional cooker handle.

The above object is accomplished by making a pressure cooker and the lid handle in the form illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:

At present, the outer lid Pressure Cookers with a whistling weight valve that can be used on a Gas Stove/Hot Plate/Halogen/Ceramic or Induction, have a dome shape in common.

This design (Outer lid of this cooker) of pressure cooker has been done with a unique lid design and aesthetics which is not only easy to use, but also is very compact.

The handles are ergonomically shaped, which is very comfortable to hold with the underside of the body handle having smooth curve without any undercuts, thus ensuring good grip.

The Pressure Cookers with a whistling weight valve that can be used on a Gas Stove/Hot Plate/Halogen/Ceramic or Induction when used for cooking food items like Dhal, Rice etc., the frothing from the weight valve is common and most of the times, the froth flows down towards the heating source through the lid surface. At times the frothing is so severe to the extent of extinguishing the flame in the gas stove or soiling the Gas stove, Induction or other electric/ electronic heat sources.

The invention (outer lid of the cooker) incorporates a feature in the lid design which prevents the froth from flowing down the lid of the cooker thus ensuring a safer, a cleaner cooking experience. The lid is typically a flat plate type structure with a peripheral wall to contain the froth leaking out of the weight within the lid. Further a contour is created to contain the froth leaking out the pressure release valve within the lid.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION :

The present invention relates to the field of handle designs and lid designs for consumer appliance and more specifically pressure cooker for domestic use. More specifically the present invention is directed to the pair of handles, the first being the handle portion fixed on lid of the pressure cooker and second being the handle portion fixed on body of the pressure cooker. The invention relates to an improved pressure cooker handle design including a curved portion in each of the handle portions which contour match the other and combinedly align alongwith the surface so that when matched the two handle portions can be gripped / grasped together to lift the pressure cooker body locked with the lid.

As shown in the figure 1, the pressure cooker contains below parts.

The handle portion on lid and the handle portion on body are designed to be urged in contact with. The design of the lid profile as shown in Figure 2, Figure 2a-Figure 2c and also Figure 3 is unique and it is not like any of the lid designs available in the market. The Outer Lid of Pressure Cooker is made in various sizes, with this design feature.

The figure 2a-2f illustrate the Lid and Body.

The Lid is matched to the body by using the handles provided in the body and lid. The profile of the lid is shaped entirely different from the lid of the pressure cookers available at present. The invention prevents the froth as it comes from the valve stem during the time of the functioning of the weight valve from flowing down the lid and contains them within the contour provided in it. Such Froths collected at the lid, due to high temperature of the lid surface gets evaporated.

Figure 2a, Figure 2c and Figure 2f shows the lid with features to collect the froth created when the pressure is built-up and released during the operation of the cooker. The outer Lid this Pressure Cooker is made in various sizes, with this unique feature.

The Figure 2a - Figure 2f shows the lid and the Body in assembled and dismantled condition and also a section view of the assembled cooker. During the cooking of food items like Rice, Dhal etc using this cooker the froths coming out of the valve stem and the whistle flows down to the lid and the specially contoured lid made using sophisticated tooling mechanism developed, contains the froths on its surface which is aided by a rim portion raised in nature when compared with the inner surface level.

The high temperature of the lid surface reached during the cooking makes the liquids collected by the lid due to the frothing, to evaporate and dry. Thus the invention prevents the froth from spilling down to the cooking area or on to the heating source.

THE ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION IS :-

1. The lid design is very unique, different from the lids anywhere in the market, which is compact, occupies less space.

2. Easy to handle.

3. The handles are design in such way that it is very comfortable to hold, the underneath of the body handle is profiled in a unique curve, which is smoother to handle and the contour of the lid handle , in match with the body handle is very comfortable to hold.

4. An outer lid pressure cooker with a lid fitted with whistling weight valve prevents the spilling of froth during cooking of food items like rice, dhal etc.

5. Cleaner cooking surroundings as the froths are contained within the top surface of the lid thus making the cleaning lot easier.
6. A compact lid shape which occupies lesser space than the lids of the present pressure cookers.

The applicant relies upon the provisional specification filed in this application and shall be considered as part and parcel of complete specification.

The disclosure has been made with an embodiment and it will be readily apparent that those skilled in the art can make minor changes and provide equivalent designs for a pressure cooker handle without departing from the spirit and scope of this invention. It is therefore apparent that the invention is not to be restricted to the specific handle design illustrate but also variants are covered. ,CLAIMS:WE CLAIM :

1. A pressure cooker comprising :

a. a cooking body,

b. a lid which is flat surface with a peripheral wall to contain the froth leaking out of pressure weight also mounted on the lid, and

c. a handle with two elongated portions for locking the lid to the body such that a first handle elongated portion coupled to the lid and a second handle elongated portion coupled to the body, and wherein a lower surface of the lid handle portion has a contour which longitudinally aligns with the contour on the top surface of the second body handle portion, so that two handle portions are so disposed to be closely aligned with the lid handle portion over the body handle portion when the lid has been applied and turned to lock with the body of the pressure cooker.
