DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a pressure cooker with handles and particularly to a handle designed for use with cooking utensils, such as pressure cooker and the general object of the invention is to provide a very simple device of this character embodying a handle adapted to fit onto a pressure cooker in the form of an extension thereof, and having means whereby it may be detachably engaged with the pressure cooker.
PRIOR ART
The art of pressure cooker is old and well worked. Various modes of detachable handles for pressure cooker are known. The double side knob operable handle would have significant appeal and would be very beneficial to users. The double locking of handle and lid handle ensures additional safety means as per the invention.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
It will be seen that the device is very simple, that it is relatively simple to manufacture and is cheap. The double side clamp is operable with a knob which also reduces the space taken by the pressure cooker. The object of the invention is to improve the pressure cooker and particularly by use of simple double lockable clamp disposed on handle means for grasping pressure cookers. The other object of the invention is to prevent free flow of froth on the lid outwardly.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This pressure cooker can be used on a Gas Stove/Hot Plate/Halogen/Ceramic and Induction heat source. The Body and lid are designed in such a way that the Lid can be fitted to the body by placing in on the body and operating the knob clockwise, thus there is no need for locating at a particular position with respect to the body handle.
The open and close function of the cooker is carried out by the turn of the knob which makes the clamps move but retaining the lid and handle static. In closed condition, a lock mechanism is provided in such a way that the cooker cannot be opened when there is pressure inside. The present invention relates to a double locking with clamps to ensure that lid is not detachable from body of pressure cooker until the pressure inside is zero. The lid assembly is locking/mounting with body in any of directions with reference of body handle, once the lid handle locks/mounted with body handle, then start rotate the knob to desired angle to engage with body lug and lid. The lid is also shaped specially to contain the frothing liquid from flowing down the lid.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention provides a pressure cooker having a double side clamps mounted onto handle construction such that pressure cooker can be held by gripping the handles from opposite sides of the pressure cooker and there is a double locking clamps of the lid to the body. One of the embodiments is described below.
The invention also relates to safety devices and primarily seeks to provide a novel handle double lock mountable on pressure cookers commonly used in homes. It is the purpose of the present invention to provide means, readily mountable upon pressure cookers of the character stated which will make it impossible to move the handles relatively for the purpose of effecting a separation of the body and the cover without the pressure lock dropping downward, almost until zero.
With the above and other objects in view that will hereinafter appear, the nature of the invention will be more clearly understood by reference to the following detailed description, and several views illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
There are many Pressure Cookers operated with Gas Stove/Hot Plate/Halogen/Ceramic and Induction, but none of them have the features of the present invention especially with a built-in safety with Lid.
The parts of this pressure cooker as per invention is illustrated in accompanying drawings:
This pressure cooker consists of many other parts with built-in safety device for release of excess pressure.
The figure 1 illustrates the condition of both Lid.
In the figure 2 - 4 there is a complete structural view showing an embodiment of the present invention.
The Body is fitted with two side handles. The Lid handle and knob are fitted with the Lid through center stud and nut arrangement. The knob has got a Cam profile which aligns with the two studs provided in the clamp by which the rotation of the knob makes the clamp move but the lid handle is in the same position.
The Lid Assembly consists of the Gasket and Weight valve and Studs and the Lid handle.
To close the cooker, the lid has to be located with the body locating the lid with body, the knob has to be turned and the clamps will engage with lugs of the body. The markings on the lid handle will indicate whether the cooker is closed or in open position. Once the lid if fully closed, the Locking device will get aligned itself just under the hole provided in the lid handle so that when the cooker builds pressure, the Lock pops up due to steam pressure and engage with the hole in the lid handle and clamp, thus preventing the lid from opening. Only when the pressure inside the cooker drops close to zero, the lock drops down allowing the cooker lid to be opened.
All of the pressure cooker parts herein described are of conventional form and in themselves form no part of the present invention. It will apparent that so long as the lock is popup state, it will prevent relative movement of the said handles so as to make it impossible to separate lid from the body. Thus it is impossible to open the cooker until the lock is dropped down and steam pressure is released from the interior of the cooker.
The handle portion may be formed of any material which is poor conductor of heat, having necessary strength and other mechanical characters.
The lid is also so designed to collect the froth on itself. The applicant has designed, tested and embodied the present invention to prevent the shortcomings of the state of art i.e., free flow of forth on the lid. In cooking, the user is often confronted with the need to clean the lid surface to remove the leaked froth on its surface. In this invention, the flow of froth is intentionally facilitated, and contained in a specific portion and prevent the free flow of froth to trickle or gravitate across the surface of the lid. This arrangement will be understood from the drawings which represents the arrangement.
The locking of lid and body is also further assisted using the clamps and the body lug as locking means.

The advantageous features of the inventions are:
The present invention relates to double locking with clamps and this clamp is applicable to pressure cooking apparatus comprising a cooker body and lid on which the VPI is mounted and fixed in the lid as illustrated in figures 1-4.
1. Open close of the lid with the Body is achieved by a simple cost effective mechanism with adequate safety, by the turn of the knob designed for this purpose.
2. The Lid can be opened and closed in any desired position where the Lid handle is located and aligned with the body.
3. The opening is done by minimum turning of knob by detaching the clamps from the lug of the body.
4. The Cooker is fitted with a silicone resettable safety device( Diaphragm type).
5. The Lid of the cooker is shaped by introducing an inward type lid design in such a way that the frothing which is generally associated with the Whistling weight vale does not drip down the lid and is held within the special contour provided in the lid. Due to the surface heat of the lid, the frothing liquid evaporates thus eliminates further dripping.
6. Most essentially the lid comprises of double locking with clamps for outer lid pressure cooker design.
7. Such features and more specifically the double locking clamps means exhibits an improved safety arrangement.
WORKING PRINCIPLE:
The Inward Lid performs to avoid froth to drip on the pressure cooker.
The lid ensures to dry/evaporates the froth by itself.
The double locking Clamps are ensuring enough strength as well as safety under pressure, cause the VPI will lift once the pressure reaches before 4kPa, once the VPI raised the cooker is locked with VPI and at any condition the cooker will not open under pressure. Once the pressure drops the VPI will drop, now you’re able to open the pressure cooker.
Froth dripping outside of the Cooker controlled by introducing the Inward Type Lid Design.
Double Locking Design introduced to ensure double safety under pressure with both the clamps.
In one aspect the invention relates to a domestic pressure cooker with a body and a lid, comprising a body having locking lugs. A lid is adapted to fit with the body. A pair of studs with associated clamps is arranged on the lid. A lid handle and a knob is fixed onto the lid with a centre stud and nut means, said knob having a cam profile, adapted to move between the two studs, such that the associated clamps can engage and disengage with the lugs of the body correspondingly. A hole is provided on the lid handle. The invention includes a pressure control locking means arranged beneath the said hole, which locking means lifts upwardly when the pressure in the body is beyond prescribed level, thereby preventing the motion of the clamp therein.
In another aspect the above cooker will have a lid handle with a cut out portion to drain the liquid leak onto a cavity formed the lid.
In another aspect the above described pressure cooker will have a lid with a cavity formed on the surface of the lid to collect the froth flowing out from the pressure control means.
