Process For Joining Aluminium To Dp 780 Grade Of Steel Sheet By Magnetic Pulse Welding
Abstract: The invention relates to Disclosed is a process for joining Aluminium sheet to DP 780 grade steel sheet by Magnetic Pulse Welding Process (MPW) by obtaining an optimized welding window. The process comprising: placing sheets at an MPW set up for MPW process; setting a stand-off distance at 2.00 (mm); and setting an operating voltage as 11 to 14 KV. The disclosed process results homogeneous bond characteristics, repeatability, high joint strength and high mass production. Further, a joint efficiency of around 90 % is achieved by welding DP-780 steel to Al by the process.
