Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for inhibiting the growth of the paclitaxel droplet size in a homogenized emulsion, during the preparation of paclitaxel nanoparticle, by diluting the homogenized emulsion with water or aqueous media within 30 minutes of homogenized emulsion formation. The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of paclitaxel nanoparticles, wherein the process comprising (a) preparation of paclitaxel homogenized emulsion and (b) diluting the homogenized emulsion of step (a) with water or aqueous media within 30 minutes of homogenized emulsion formation to get a colloidal suspension of paclitaxel having a mean particle size less than about 250 nm.
