Abstract: PROCESS FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF FLUORAPATITE NANORODS The present invention is related to the process for the synthesis of fluorapatite nanorods using L-arginine as a crystal growth modifier coupled with ultrasonication technique by maintaining a pH of 3.5 at room temperature which increases its stability, improves its erosion resistance in acidic medium, hence, can be effectively used in conservative dentistry and orthopaedics. The present invention specifically produces fluorapatite nanorods in an energy-efficient process within a short period even at lower pH and thus differs from other available methods for the synthesis of fluorapatite.
