Process Of Preparing Acetamiprid In Situ (One Pot) And Acetamiprid Obtained Thereof
Abstract: This invention relates to a one pot process for preparing acetamiprid of formula 3 as shown below wherein R’ is methyl comprising reacting 2-chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine of formula 1 as shown below with N-cyanimide of formula 2 as shown below wherein R’ is methoxy, ethoxy or aminomethyl and R is methyl in the presence of suitable polar solvent at 10 to 600C for 25-30 hours. In the above process the various polar solvents which can be used are methanol xylene toluene, ethanol, isopropanol, dimethylsulfoxide etc. The acetamiprid by this invention is useful in various pest management programs on a wide range of crops.
